Okay, so what tablet is the best android tablet? I'm planning on getting one for my birthday this summer, and I want to do the research and know which one to get before that time comes. I'd like it to be cheaper than the ipad. I was thinking about a Kindle Fire, but I'm not sure. Something in that $200 price range would be very good. My folks have ipads (including the new one), and I like them, but for various reasons, I'm planning on going android. Can you ladies help me out? Thanks!

What can I do next?

Ditto on what Beth said esp about customer service.

What are you planning on doing with your tablet? As a reader first, and then as a web surfer and gamer secondary?

Nook vs Kindle Fire = world's largest bookstore to world's largest vs world's largest online retailer. Since I needed an e-reader, I picked Nook.

We got our daughter the Kindle Fire for Christmas, and I have to say I'm not impressed. 8 gigs isn't much storage these days, and even though you have the unlimited amazon "cloud-type" storage, if you don't have access to wi-fi (in the car for example) you don't have access to your stuff either. Also, not all android apps work with the Fire, you have to get the Kindle specific apps which is downer to us as well. I also think the 7" screen is too small for what we use it for. If I could do it over, we definitely would have skipped purchasing the Fire, and opted for a different 10" tablet with at least 32 gig storage.

On a different note, I love my basic kindle e-reader for reading. The Fire still needs some work though in my opinion.

I bought a Kindle Fire for each of two of my girls for Christmas. My friend bought her dghtr one for Christmas and a coworker bought one. They are worth it. The reviews showed it to be better than the iPad, although it is smaller. Also I heard Android network is better than Apple. Good luck.

Nook Tablet.
Compare stats with the Kindle.
All around the Nook Tablet is faster, and better than the Kindle Fire. The Nook also has expandable memory ( you can add up to a 32GB micro SD card to it) and you've got the actual store with actual people that know what they are doing , you don't have to call some operator if something goes wrong with the Nook. I bought my Nook Color at best buy, I got a bum one , and it started acting up , I took it in to barnes and noble with me and even though I didn't buy it there they sent me a new one. All I had to do was send the broken one back to them. I've had no problems with the new one. I want the new Tablet , and will get it soon.
