Best Advice You Ever Got on Here?

I love to read all of the interesting questions and answers moms give! It's really fun and interesting to see the difference of perspective strangers have on issues. I laugh, cry and sometimes get really upset when I read things, but I always try to remember that tone, and perspective are hard things to communicate online. I always try to give helpful advice, and I sincerely never mean to be hurtful by my opinion I give. I always try to be mindful of people's hearts. If I am having a crappy day or see a "loaded question" I try really hard to not be bitchy or just not comment altogether. But thinking about all this, I am curious. Have any of you mommas gotten some really great advice that you actually thought, "Wow. That was so helpful. I'm totally taking that advice." Or, have you ever gotten a REALLY hateful or hurtful response by someone that totally just blew you away? Did you thank them? Did you send them a message? How do we show our appreciation (Besides flowers)What was the best advice you ever got from a member here?

I found this site when I was a new mom & had no one to ask about anything. It saved me giving me not only advice but peace of mind.
I look back now & realize how insightful moms are! Thanks to all of you!
Best advice was about feeding, burping, napping, sleeping infant!

I have only received a few snarky responses. I've received lots of flowers now & tons of great ideas. I enjoy the commaraderie (sp?), support & innovative insights.

Thanks to the advice I got here I managed to get my third child to finally turn and stay head down instead of sideways. Also thanks to the ladies that answered I was able to calm down from the utter panic attack I was having about the whole thing. Sideways baby would mean an automatic C-section in a hospital instead of the birth center birth I was planning. In the end I got that all natural, vaginal birth in the birth center.
I don't always ask a lot of questions but I learn a lot from other people's questions. It's nice to see that I am not the only one going through issues which makes it easier to deal with my own problems.

The best advice I ever received was when I asked whether I should tell my old friend (from high school--haven't actually seen her in nearly 10 years) that someone told me her husband was cheating on her. The most well reasoned replies told me not to, and I didn't. From everything I can see since then they have a very stable marriage and have added another child to their family.

I just used someone's advice yesterday- I had a birthday party for my daughter and we used pool noodles as one of the games, like a javelin throw. It was a hit. I forget who posted it but it was response to someone else's question about birthday party activities for the same age group. I learn most from other people's questions! Lots of good tips and also "perspective" on here.

I get great advice to every question I ask, and I ask a lot of them. It would be impossible to narrow down to the best advice. I've gotten a few zingers in responses but most of those have been due to assumptions that could be made by info I left out to keep the question shorter and more on topic.
