We sold our car in about a day (it was also a Jeep Cherokee!) using Autotrader.com. I also listed another car with Autotrader.com and got tons of inquiries (but we ended up selling it through someone my husband worked with).
Hi Moms,
We are going to be selling my Jeep Grand Cherokee and was wondering what might be the best advertisement to put money into for selling a car?
Has anyone used Craigslist for selling a car?
It is free advertisement but not sure how good the site works.
Thanks for any helpful info!

This is I. D. I wonder if you could give me some info on the milage, year and price. I am on the market for a good cash car/suv. I love Jeeps. My first vehicle was 1997 Jeep Cherokee. It was a great vehicle. High maintenance but loved to
to drive it.
Thanks,
I. - mother of a beautiful 2-year old baby girl.

We used CraigsList & AutoTrader to sell our car a few weeks ago and had better luck with (sold it through) CraigsList. Make sure you give a full description, put up as many pictures as you can, and also give the VIN # (people use CarFax to check out history of the car - wrecks, service, etc.) so people can make an informed decision. And, be sure that buyers can reach you quickly & easily (or that you respond quickly), as they're typically sifting through lots of ads and want to make a quick decision on whether to come see the car or not. And, just use good judgement when it comes to people looking at the car (like having people come to your house, etc.) Good luck!

We have used Cragslist for selling our riding lawn mower. We sold it within 5 hours of placing it online. It is free to advertise. So I say go for it! Just make sure your partner is at home when people come to look at it. You have no clue who might show up at your home!

We sold our car to a person using Craigslist. We had also placed an ad in Dallas Morning News, which also gives you an online listing, but only maybe one person contacted us. We had so many more contacts through Craigslist, and it's free!
My niece sold her car the same day on Craig's List. I listed mine on Autotrader.com and I think I paid $50, but it stays on there until it sells and it also gets listed in the Autotrader Magazine that comes out. You can go on and edit it every once in a while with a lower price or higher mileage if you need to if it doesn't sell right away. I ended up trading mine in because I was upside down on it, but I did get a lot of calls.
