Good Morning Ladies,

What can I do next?

Do you know for sure that is what it is? Have you seen your doctor? I only ask because they thought my husband had Bells palsy and put him on medication, when the medication did not help they did further investigation and it turned out he had a tumor. I would go see your doctor.

are you actually & officially diagnosed with Bell's?

there are meds, such as steroids, which are given in the beginning & can be helpful. & when I had Bell's, I googled facial exercises. Between what my dr gave as instructions + these exercises, I had a boatload of stuff to do.

didn't help much, tho'.....I have permanent facial paralysis. Bummer. See the dr & get going!

Google "EFT" techniques.

I recommend seeing a good Accupuncturist.

And have you definitely been diagnosed with Bell's Palsy?

Go to a doctor right away. If you are diagonosed with Bell's Palsy, steroids may help. Early treatment is important. I did not get early treatment and, like Sue H., I suffered permanent facial paralysis. It's slight, but unfortunately a bit disfiguring.

I'm so sorry that you're dealing with this. One of my very best friends had Bell's for 2.5 years several years ago and then it just... went away. It turns out that it runs in her family and for each of her family that had it, it would last 2-to-3 years. She had frequent check ups with a neurologist for treatment to make sure everything else was in order during the duration of the Bell's.

Once it's started, you have to let it run its course. I had it a week after giving birth to my first, and they put me on both steroids and an antiviral medication because they don't really know what causes it. The sooner you see your doc, the better your outcome is likely to be.

I recovered probably 95% or more. It took around 4-6 weeks to mostly recover.

Bell's Palsy sucks. But it gets better.

After all the medical treatment, my best friend went to physio for Bells Palsy and goes for a touch up every couple of years.
