Help!! How do I get rid of the bees (regular honey bees)around my small wading pool?

I've noticed more than a few bees that come around to get a drink of water. I know all about the importance of NOT killing the bees but, come on - I don't want my babies being stung either. I've pulled my babies to the side while a bee visits the other side but, that's pretty annoying since it's a small pool and Mommy gets scared too! So what can I do? I've tried splashing around but, it' very temporary and I'm in fear of them going into "attack" mode on my babies and myself. I just need them to stay away.

Please let me know if you have any tips on how I can keep these little guys away from us safely and not.

Thank you, M.

I've been having the same thing happen with bees and wasps since we've had this July heat wave going on. The only things I've found that helped distract them was to run the sprinkler or hose for a few minutes and wet the grass before we swim and to put out a few tupperware containers with water in various spots on the opposite side of the yard. I have had to blast the wasps with insecticide if they persisted (after they fly away from the pool and my child)...but I try not to b/c I don't like having my DD around that stuff if I can help it.

When I had a swimming pool, we had an issue with bees being around more & it was very nerve wracking since my daughter was allergic to bees. Someone had suggested running a sprinkler on some plants we had near by & that worked for us! We just ran a small sprinkler while we were playing in the pool & we didn't have as many bees around us in the pool. Good luck! Can't wait to read other responses.

Place a blowl with sugar water a good ways away from the pool. The bees will be attracked to that rather than the plain water. Refill the sugar water if dried up and as needed. Good luck

The Bees are gathering water to cool their Hive, they aren't interested in "attacking".

Leave some water elsewhere and they may go to that source, but this is a " problem" that i had as well , and it's not easily fixed.
