Any of you ladies have knowledge as to how to become an Image Consultant? I see academies offering certifications all over the internet, but how do you know what to choose? Do you really even have to be "certified" to do it? Any other suggestions/direction?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

*It isn't for me. I already have a career that is far less fun most days! I just asked if anyone knows how to go about doing it. Thanks!

It sounds like an interesting job...but I'd question whether or not there is a market for it in Missouri, especially in this economy.

Maybe you could approach it more like a "personal shopper"?

There are people EVERYWHERE that will spend money!
It's not like you can paint an entire state with the same brush, so to speak!

Apparently, no "certification" is needed:

I have some friends who have tried. Last I saw they were having to diversify into event planning. Its all about where you live, and the circles you run in. I am not aware of any certification in this area. She lives in L.A.. She does a lot of name dropping on FB, and all her photos are about being fabulous, being seen, and going to all the hot places and getting to know all the other fabulous people. Its social circles and selling yourself.

because they were trying for the Hollywood cliental, one angle was to use upstarting designers as your clients and try to get their free products on the famous people, to get the designer a some name recognition. They never broke into that niche.
