try www.orientaltrading.com

they have lots of games/goodies etc., for parties.
bulk rate prices.

At that age, honestly, you don't need a lot of things for them to do... some kids that age per their motor skills, socialization etc., still just parallel play or just amuse themselves or are clingy with their parents in large groups. But its nice to have games etc.

And, make sure to time the party at times where the kids won't be too tired/fussy if it conflicts with nap times etc. Otherwise, kids will just be too fussy. I've seen that happen.

good luck,
Susan

How long is the party? I'd say presents and cake alone will take 1/2 - 1 hour depending on how many presents there are. Are you having food?

Do you have a theme? If you were having a Curious George Party (or Princess) for example, you could have some kind of craft that relates to that - like another poster said - color the picture. Or maybe print out pictures associated to your theme and glue them on construction paper then have the kids use pudding (vanilla with food coloring if you are daring or just chocolate). Then have them use glitter to decorate it.

Pin the tail on the 'fill in the blank here'.

If you are having it outside, get bubbles and have them run around after them.

If you have a large ball, you can kick the ball around - that is enough of a game for the kids.

How warm will it be? Could you let them play with water balloons?

Decorate your own sugar cookies (then they get to take them with them?)

What about paint each kids face?

I didn't have any games for my daughter's 2nd birthday but plan on doing the pudding painting, eating marshmallows off a string without using your hands (for adults too) and pinata for her third.

It really depends if they are sitting the whole time or if you have a private room where they can run around a little bit. If you are able to set something up, we did a "fishing hole" for my son's 2nd birthday party. He and his friends used a pole to swing a string over a low barrier. Grandpa was sitting on the other side of the barrier, and he clipped a toy onto the string using a clothespin. It was a great hit! We used small stuffed animals, but I've seen stickers, beads, etc on the end of the fishing line.

If the kids will be sitting, they may be interested in making their own instruments using small plastic containers with lids (yogurt, cottage cheese, etc). The kids can decorate them with stickers or whatever else they like (pom poms, glitter, etc). Put dry rice and/or beans in it, and the kids can shake to their hearts' content!
