You actually need to be more specific. They have several, hundreds, of different plans that go under that name. I have the same name, have no troubles at all, looking at the other answers, not the same for all plans.

I suggest you call Blue Cross

We had it until 3 years ago. My oldest had some conditions that required specialist visits and testing and we never had a problem. Much of it depends on how good your Primary Care Provider is. Ours, Dr. Ozark, at Loyola in Burr Ridge, has always been great with whatever we needed.

It depends on what is available in your area, as far as finding in-network doctors goes. You'll have that with any insurance company. We've have BCBS for years with no problems at all.

You will want to verify with the insurer first, but a lot of HMOs do not require a referral to a specialist anymore and it is up to the specialist not the subscriber to precertify procedures. Check with your insurance company to see exactly how they operate.
