BBT Charting and Temperature Drop

Asking a question of the BBT charting pros out there...  This is my first time charting and I'm just looking for a little help...  Two days ago I had a temp dip and then yesterday a temp spike (which also coincided with a positive OPK test the same day as the temp dip two days ago).  I'm assuming I ovulated two days ago or maybe even yesterday.  Today my temp fell 3 tenths of a degree.  Does that mean that I already know that I'm not pregnant since my temp already dropped after the spike?  Any clarification you can give me would be great!  Thank you.

What can I do next?

Have you been to www.fertilityfriend.com? I highly recommend that site for those who are TTC using a variety of indicators such as BBT, cervical mucus and position, among others. I do not know the exact answer to your question but I am confident that the site will be of great assistance to you. They offer about 20 different 'lessons' regarding charting, taking BBT, etc. and will actually have a bunch of different sample BBT charts and explain what all the rise/fall/sawtooth patterns/etc. mean.

There is a wonderful website called www.fertilityfriend.com you enter in all of your information and it analyzies it for you. I got pregnant both times using this site within the first two months after over a year of trying to figure it out on my own. The answer to your question is no. Your temp should remain stable until about the day you are supposed to get your period. At that time, it will either continue to stay up or even rise, which COULD indicate pregnancy-or fall back down signalling your period is about to start. Good luck to you!

I would say the 3 tenths temp. drop does not necessarily mean that you are not pregnant. I'm guessing that since Friday, your temp. has stayed up higher than it normally was before you ovulated. The temp. drop you get before your period is the one that will tell you you are not pg. You may need to chart for a few months to know exactly what your body does normally. Your temp pattern may change if you are pg, or it may not -- everyone is different.

Check out the site the others referred you to. It's really too early to tell yet. Watch it a few days more, there are plenty of variations, and you can't generally tell whether you're pregnant or not after one day. Hang in there, you'll find out soon enough!
