Bathtime??? - Zelienople,PA

I had the same issue with my one daughter when she was around 3 months old. She started to dislike taking a bath out of the blue. It turned out that it was just a phase that only lasted a few weeks and then she eventually got over it. Is there a toy you can give her to keep her occupied while you give her a quick bath?

Also, are you using a baby tub? My other daughter started to dislike her bathtime around 4-5 months and it was obvious that it was the small tub that she didn't like. We started using a bath seat in our tub and she loved it.

My daughter went through this too, a couple times. I had to literly getin the tub with her and wash her very quickly..dont worry she will stop as suddenly as she started and then she may go through it again in a couple of months. My daughter is four now and everything is fine. Good luck!

It could be almost anything, but the SAME THING happened to my son when he was about a year. The problem for us was just how we both deal with washing hair. My husband would do the whole soap/dump water on the head/comfort the baby thing, assuming he was going to scream no matter what and it was better to just get it over with and then make him feel better when it was over. I had developed a complex system of using a wash cloth to get the soap off the head, squirting with a plastic fish squirty, and singing songs that distracted him when I washed his hair, so he never really freaked out when I bathed him. Eventually I had to bath our son with my husband for a few days so he could get the hang of it because he had started to scream anytime either of us brought him into the bathroom!

Just try to figure out what you guys do differently that might be scaring her. Does he leave the water on too long and the noise bothers her? It's probably something silly.

It sounds like something scared her. I know that my son was scared of the drain for a short time b/c of the gurgle sound it makes when the water goes down. It took him a little while to get over it but after soothing him and explaining what the funny sound was he was fine.

Oh things change everyday in a infants routine she may of just found herself not to enjoy the bath time any longer, try to load the toys up in her bath also i found with my children they enjoyed colored foam in the tub its nontoxic and not harmful to there skin, can be found at toys r us or walmart.

I am having the same issue with my now 1yr old son. It might be the heat. He just started screaming during bath time within the past six weeks. I gave him a bath today and didn't make the water as warm as usual more on the cooler side and noticed that he only fussed while going in and while rinsing him off, but otherwise he was happy splashing around. Our house gets hot easily now that we have new windows and just today we put in the A/C in all the rooms and I even noticed a difference in his sleeping too. I hope that maybe the suggestion of changing the temp helps with your daughter. Good Luck!

We have gone through this with my daughter since around 1 1/2 yrs. old. She still screams in the bath sometimes and she'll be 3 next month! For her, I think she doesn't like to get water in her face when we wash her hair. We've tried to sing songs when washing her hair to distract her and that works most of the time. Some nights it doesn't work (most of these times she didn't nap and is just exhausted).

For your daughter, try to make it as fun as you can, i.e. blowing bubbles, singing songs, playing with bath toys. We usually give our daughter about 3-5 min. of "fun" or "play" time before or after we wash her so that she feels that bath time is fun.
