hi everyone i just bought this bath tine pitcher with the rubber part you put against the baby's head and it wont get water in her eyes while rinsing her hair. i recently posted what to do about it and this is one thing that came up. i haven't tried the visor yet but that's next if this doesn't work anyway has anyone used this bath time cup? and did it work by keeping the water out of the baby's eyes thank you and how do you use it?
Good 'ol fashion wash cloth to cover eyes and a cup of water to rinse. As you rinse her hair, cover her eyes and wipe backwards towards hairline to avoid her eyes. Washcloth gets wet and you can wipe her face. Works for my 9 week old. Clean face but doesn't get it in his eyes and cry.
You'll need to hold your baby's head back as far as she will allow. Place the rubber against her head and pour slowly and gently. After a time, she'll begin to trust that you won't pour water in her eyes and will hold her head back more willingly.
Just use a cup and keep your hand on the baby's forehead. That's what we did --don't waste your money. Our daughter hated her hair washed and still does.
I have one it works pretty well as long as my kids hold still.(which they usually don't) :) You just press the rubber side up against their forehead and pour the water over their heads. Pretty easy. Wal-mart sell them for not too much maybe $3 or $4. Hope this helps.

my suggestion is to actually let the water get in her face when you rinse her hair. the baby shampoo won't hurt the baby's eyes, and it will make it so much easier when you are teaching her to swim, if she doesn't mind getting water in her eyes! believe me... I have learned this lesson the hard way!!!!
I have one - use it, works great, you hold the rubber part against the forehead, then tip back - try it on your self first
You have to tilt their head up and make sure it stays up while you firmly press the rubber part on their forehead right at the hair line. If they keep looking at the ceiling while pouring, it does not go in their face as long as the cup stays on the forehead the entire pour. Good luck, it took our kids to get a little older to understand looking up at the ceiling and not looking down.
I actually have had no luck with these products. My cousin sent me this new product she picked up in a boutique called the 'funspunge' I've seen a commercial on TV for it. Works great, I don't need to hold anything. Its a headband that catches everything. No more fussing and fighting. Keeps water out of the eyes and ears. My Kids get ear infections all the time and this helped prevent them. - K.

I have always had the best luck with a showerhead which has a hose attached. It allows me to control the water better and makes it less scary for the kids.
We would play "Buzz & Woody," I'd say 'reach for the sky' like Woody. The kids would answer 'Never!!' & I'd spray with with the shower hose. They became use to water on their tummies then later in their face. Finally during hair washing time, if some water it their eyes, it was no biggy.
When they were older, swimming was a breeze, because they were use to water in their face.

works pretty good for us! I have been using this for 4 years... 2 kids.
We hung an inflatable toy (Spongebob!) from the ceiling with a ceiling hook to teach our toddler to look up. We told him "Look up at Spongebob!" whenever we need to wash his hair, then he would tilt his head up back long enough. I've used that pitcher but it seemed to scare him more than help him. If his head remains tilted back the water shouldn't run in his eyes anyway. Another idea is putting stickers on the ceiling to get child to lean head back if you don't want to install a hook (we had one already for hanging ferns).
I found this product on the internet and OMG... it is PERFECT... it totally works... www.thefunspunge.com. It's a headband that is made from sponge so it soaks up the soap and water. GODSEND
