Hello everyone,

I am looking for a banquet center or hall for an event. We will have between 50 and 70 people. It will not be until next April or May and it will be for my daughter's first Holy Communion. I would like to compile a list now so I can narrow it down and know where we will celebrate. I would like to stay close to Novi and not venture out too far from our church which is near 10 mile and Meadowbrook. That gives me Novi, Livonia, Farmington and Farmington Hills, Northville, Walled Lake, and Wixom.

My family tends to be VERY picky about food quality. Someone is always complaining about something when we go to a new place. Growing up we always went to the same places for EVERY event but that was on the East side of Detroit and I am new to the West side. I would really appreciate your help. We are an Italian family so an Italian based menu would be preferred but I am open to other suggestions as well.

Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

I've been to One Under in Livonia for a bridal shower. I remember the food being amazing (the bride to be was a chef, so quality of food was important to her).
We also had our wedding reception at Laurel Manor in Livonia. The food was delicious too!
Buca di Beppo in Livonia (6 & Haggerty) also did a wonderful rehearsal dinner for my close friends.

There is the Italian/Country Epicure in Novi. (The name has changed I can't remember if it is Italian or Country Epicure.) It is on Grand River between Meadowbrook and Novi Rds. I've been there for baby showers, wedding anniversarys and wedding showers. I always have thought the food is good.. though I'm not a really picky person. They have a nice banquet facility downstairs that accommadates a big group of people, and you don't feel crowded. A lot of parking. It would definately be a place to look at!!

Hope this is helpful! Have a great first communion!

Try the Wixom Community Center @ Pontiac Trail- between Beck & Wixom Road. It's only about 7-10 minutes from your church. You can see online at http://www.cityofwixom.com/LocalGov/Recreation/cc.html

If you get your food catered through Gary's Catering- you get a 15% discount off your rental fee, and their food is good! You can tailor your menu to as low (chicken/ burgers) or high end (Tenderloin) as you want- and at either spectrum, you'll be pleased.

Burton Manor located on Schoolcraft and Inkster on south side of I-96. My hubby's work Christmas party is held there every year. The food is delicious along with the staff is great. The rooms are all non-smoking as well. But by the time you have your function, I would assume that the entire building will be smoke free as well. Best of luck to you in finding a great place to celebrate your daughter's special event in her life.

Have you been to Genitti's in Northville? I've been there for two birthday parties, a baby shower, and a charity auction. Everyone always has a really good time and raves about the family-style Italian food -- and the staff really does treat its customers like family. Drop by or give them a call!
