I LOVE the goodwill store in Mckinney off of university just past redbud. they have tons of tap shoes that are in awesome condition and other great clothing... good luck, AJ
I was wondering if anyone knew of where I may pick up a pair of tap and ballet shoes for my three year old. She will be taking dance class the end of January and I don't want to spend a fortune. This will be her first time so I'm not completely sure she is going to stick with it!!

Wal Mart actually carries both ballet and tap shoes for a reasonable price. Probably not the best quality, but good enough to try out until you can decide if you want to invest more. At that age, they are growing so much that you have to get new pairs pretty often anyway.
Tap shoes are a little pricey....I got mine used at kid to Kid in Plano....I think they carry them now at Cutie Patootie in Frisco.
Payless Shoes carries them for this age group and they're great; you may need to get the elastic "button" for the tap shoes, they did not want the ribbon ties in the class my daughter took at 3....good luck!
I have a pair of ballet shoes and a pair of tap shoes both sized 9 that my daughter wore about 3-4 times. Her foot grew a lot the month of September....a whole size! I bought the shoes at the end of August. Just e-mail me if these would work for you. If not try Sandy's too in Plano. They are really good at fitting children. M.
Payless Shoesource carries both and is inexpensive.
We have purchased ours at Payless, so check there. They are probably not high quality, but neither are 3 year old dancers:) But, they are soooo cute to watch! Be prepared, her tap shoes are very slippery, so you may need to be there when she tries them out for the first time on your kitchen floor. (We almost had a broken arm the first time:) Have fun! ~A.~
What size do you need? My daughter has decided that she doesn't want to take ballet anymore, she wants to take gymnastics. Hers are in great condition as they were only worn a few times. PM me for mor info.
We found ballet shoes at Payless and got our tap shoes at Kid to Kid (consignment store)--they sell new ones as well, at least the one in Allen did a year ago.
We had good luck at Payless. perfect for starting dancers, and so precious!
