i'm sorry i don't really have any advice but wanted to offer you some encouragement that I"m sure you and your family will find a solution.
Hey there,
I am currently nursing our 5th child, a 14 month old little girl. I recently discovered that I am suffering from adrenal fatigue and hormone imbalance and I am falling fast. It seems as if there is little to no end in sight in regards to nursing. Hubby and I have tried some weaning methods that worked well with the other chldren, but to no avail.
So, I am wondering if anyone has taken hormones to rebalance them while still nursing? I am looking for something that is effective yet gentle enough for me while nursing.
I need to get back on track, I feel like I am barely keeping my head above water....
Thanks in advance

I don't have any specific advice on hormones to take, except to make sure you know about the Infant Risk Center hotline. Dr Hale is the guy who studies what transfers into mother's milk. His info is what doctors reference. He has a website (infantrisk.com) with information on what he's researched. And he now has a hotline number you can call on weekdays with questions. I have heard good things about it, including from a friend who called it before a surgery for advice on what anesthesia/meds to discuss with her doctor. Could be worth a shot for you to call! Good luck.
Contact a lactation consultant - you can probably get a referral from the hospital or ob/gyn. They tend to be more knowledgable about what passes through the milk medication-wise. I know this firsthand because the pediatrician thought I needed to stop breastfeeding since I had shingles, but I didn't. Grr. It took months to get back on track after that.
Hi K., Taking hormones is not a natural way to rebalance your hormones. We have health and wellness seminars in my salon on Wednesday nights with one of the nurses in Alameda. If you are interested in learning more email me and I will send you some information.
Have a great week.

I agree to consult a lactation consultant. If you have questions about specific drugs, etc, consult with Dr. Thomas Hale at infantrisk.org or call his hotline. He's the go-to professional regarding Medications and Mother's Milk.
As a side note, consider that your hormone imbalance may be worse if you wean, especially if you wean suddenly. Cold turkey will throw everything out of whack and could exacerbate your issues.
There a nutritional supplements that is safe and can help you. My daughter in-law took it while pregnant and breast feeding, both baby and mom very health and her hormone issue is no longer a problem. Let me know if you would like information on the supplements,
Wishing you all the Best.
