Bad Washing Machine Experience

I bought a washing machine from a scratch & dent sale a few months back. There weren't many to choose from in the style that I liked. The only one left had the back put on wrong and they said they put it back on wrong after testing it out. We got it up in the laundry room and noticed a dent in the bottom. Not a big deal since it was a dent sale but that was not there when I examined it over & over. The wash basket is also cracked in two spots and I have been noticing that the laundry is taking an hour and a half to wash! That is just not right! We've had it for a couple months now and have a warranty. Do you think they will do anything abou tit if I go in there and complain? I hate it. it does not tell how long each cycle takes and you can't open the lid until it unlocks so if u want to throw something in you can't. I didn't notice the crack until a few days later and we did not do that! I put a load of laundry in at 8 am on regular and it is still going.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I went to the appliance store and they are sending someone out tomorrow to take a look and said the basket should be covered under warranty and they don't know how it could have cracked.

I would say take it back or at least try!

I hate ours! My husband moved it into the garage to put a new floor down and ever since it has been off balance! I would LOVE to have a new one!

You can't deal with that for too long!

Take it back! i am assuming you didnt get a MAJOR discount but the point of the sale is to get ride of the appliances that are not PERFECT. they probably had no idea :)

If you have a warranty - take it back. Who knows, they may have a better selection now:)

is it a westinghouse? we bought their simplist model (my mom has dementia and we needed something that just had dials) and the stupid thing locks the lid. we have to push this little button to get it to stop during a cycle and if you hold it to long...argh! it also takes for freaking ever to do a load. over an hour for sure. so the length of the cycle may be tied to the brand. but the cracked barrel is a defect. I'd go and see what they'll do for you.

I'm pretty sure scratch and dent should JUST mean cosmetic. You have functioning issues.I'd call and see what they have to say. Something is NOT right.
