Keep up with the Yoga and add some massage. Massage is a great way to help the muscles relax, tone, and heal. It is also good for the overall health. Good Luck.
I have severe back pain - I had it before I was pregnant due to a car injury & now after prgenany It's worse! Doctor's don't seem to help - I've spent alot of time doing MRI, CT scans etc. Chiroractor & yoga help somewhat, but I just want to lead a normal life & enjoy my daughter. Does anyone have any advice? I don't know what else to do.

I have fibromyagia and have been looking for a natural pain reliever for years and nothing has done the job permanently until now. I started taking Zrii January 19th and it REALLY helps with the inflamation and tiredness from the pain. I now have way more energy and my pain is under control. It is a GREAT anti-inflammatory, all natural, no preservatives, easy to take cuz its a liquid and tastes great. It is based on a form of natural medicine that has been used in India for 5,000 years. S., I just went to a Cranial Sacral therapist for back pain. I am absolutely amazed at the difference. I would say it is like chiropractor but different. Can't really explain it, but it worked! I feel so much better after one visit. The insurance won't cover it, so I had to pay out of my pocket but I was so sick of medications and pain that I didn't even care anymore. Mine cost $120 but the visit took a couple of hours and I am going to save on the prescriptions and OTC drugs!! Not sure where you are at but you should definately look into finding one. If you are in the Orange County, CA area I can give you the name and phone number of the one I went to. My email is ____@____.com you can get some relief soon!
Dear S.,
I feel your pain! I have had chronic back pain since I was 16 and when my son was 6 weeks old, my back went out so bad I was in bed for two weeks and I was bent sideways for a long time. I went to the chiropractor a lot but it didn't seem to help much. I eventually got better, then went back home to Switzerland and saw my osteopath, who fixed me in two sessions. I was good for 6 months after that, started running, got in great shape, and then the pain came back and grew worse and worse. So bad I was worried I would end up in a wheel chair at that pace! I finally had an MRI and found out I had a bulging disk. I also have a tilted pelvis, a leg that seems longer than the other and a foot that doesn't position right when I walk. I also have very loose ligaments, so it doesn't hold my joints together. All of these affect my back. I have been living with pain almost daily for the last two years. Sometimes it's really bad, other times it's very good.
I started Bikram Yoga, which helped a lot when I was able to practice 3-5 times a week, but I don't have time anymore.
One thing that always works for me is osteopathic manipulations. They're very popular and common in Switzerland, here they are unknown. But you can find DOs that practice them, or sometimes they are called cranio-sacral therapists. Unfortunately, not covered by my insurance and extremely expensive! However, I swear by it. Holistic approach, rebalances your whole body and has done miracles for me. I have had to stop running, surfing, dancing, rough playing with my son, and that has been a grieving process. But my life is manageable, I know my body and pay attention to it.
I hope you find what is right for you, but I encourage you to look into osteopathic manipulations.
Good luck!

I had terrible sciatic back pain when I was pregnant with number 2. I could hardly walk at times. I've seen chiropractors before and decided to try a physical therapist. SOO much better. (And it came with massage!) Try that. After the first 2 or 3 sessions of massage and stretching I was extrememly sore, but it got much better. My back pain did not completely go away until several months after baby was born, but really close!
Here is a friends number she sells this stuff and it works. My husband has a plastic knee and it made him feel so much better and relived a lot of pain when my back was hurting. Her name is Ereika her number is ###-###-####. Tell her J. sent you. All I can say is try it you've tried everything else. Good luck and best wishes.
I have back pain as well--it was of and on until about 3 years ago and now it is definitely ON. I tried chiros--not much luck. I have a disc narrowing and probably arthritis in my hip joints. I see a physical therapist about once a week and it def. helps. Nothing is perfect but he got my pelvis stabilized and taught me some good stretches. He also does muscle manipulation.
Find a good PT who works with athletes and people recovering from orthopedic surgery. I live in Laguna NIguel so if you want the name of mine let me know.

Hi S., I'm sorry you're in so much pain. I know it sounds crazy but have you heard of MonaVie? It's a juice made from the brazilian acai berry and it works wonders on pain. I had chronic lower back pain and carpal tunnel syndrome before beginning the juice. My son has suffered from growing pains his whole life until starting on the juice. I've heard from countless people with all types of pain who've been helped. It's super high in antioxidants which as you know doctors have been telling us is the key to good health. Check it out at www.monavie.com and email me if you want to find out how to get it. ____@____.com
Hope you're feeling better soon,

HI S. -
Please look into a Physical Therapist! Mine was a Godsend! When I first started going to him I had different insurance that didn't cover the cost, but he worked with me to make it affordable. In time we changed insurance and PT is now covered. We are in Laguna Niguel, let me know if you are interested in his info. He has also looked at my kids without charging me. I can't say enough great things about him and his office.
Good luck to you, back pain is as awful!!
Hi S.,
Sorry to hear you're suffering. You should check out Dr Jeffrey Brown on Eastern Ave. He specializes in pain relief. His number is ###-###-####. He's an osteopath which is different and he can "fix" you up.
Good luck.
Hi S.,
I have had the same issues. Did you have an epidural? Sometimes the back pain can be related to that and I have been in several car accidents also and broke my back. Some pain relief comes from stretching and weight loss for me but after all the MRI's and CT's physical therapy and excercise is all the doctors have offered. Hope it helps to know there are others with the same issue and if you find a cure please let me know. Thanks, M.
Dear S., Yeah, me too. Have you heard of that new 'machine' that tilts backwards and helps your spine realigh it self, and the blood flow get into the whatevers it is supposed to get into. It looks like it would be a good thing to try if you can afford it. I saw it on TV the other night. You could also do some exercises specifically designed to strengthen your back muscles and legs too. C. N.
Hi S.,
Back pain is really hard to live with sometimes. Have you tried acupuncture? I have heard it really works. Hope you feel better.

As a sufferer of chronic back pain (arthritis, disc) I sympathize with you. During my second pregnancy I went to a chiro and sometimes it helped. I also treated myself to frequent prenatal massages...sometimes it helped. I have been sleeping on a sleep number bed for 10 years...some mornings are better than others. During my pregnancy I feel like things got better. My chiro said it was because during pregnancy the body releases a hormone that loosens up the joints in preparation for birth. After my son was born (via c-section) the pain got worse (no more hormone secreting those joints and now an untoned core). My son is now 9-months old and again, some days are better than others. Some days I am in so much pain and just trying to take care of a baby is hard, much less enjoy being a mommy. I don't get any relief from prescriptions, so I gave up on those almost 2 years ago. My (former) chiro is heavily into nutrition and started having me take fish oil. I take 2 in the morning and 2 before bed. I think it helps. I am also trying to lose some weight and work on toning up my core to help lower back. I tried swimming a few times and that helped (don't have regular access to a pool). When I sit on the couch I have a lumbar support that helps keep my lower back supported (btw, sitting makes mine worse, so I try to keep moving). And, on bad days I wear a brace around my lower back and that helps (you can get at Wal-Mart). I just moved to a new city and have to start searching for a new "team" to take care of me. I know it's hard, but keep in mind that back pain is one of those mysterious ailments that doesn't always respond to the same treatment. Try the fish oil and seek out a good "team" (PT, chiro, massage therapist, & keep on with the yoga) to take care of you.
Hi S.,
My suggestions would be to get a massage. Getting a massage helps with back pain and so much more. It also allows you time to just relax. Massage Envy also has really affordable rates and lots of different types of massage too. The intro rate was only 39 for an hour. While I was at one of their sites they said they also do cranial scaral for the same price. Look at the web site to find a location nearest you.
I Stacey, I suffer from back pain as well, we even got a sleep number bed, and every morning i am in such pain, also when i am on my feet all day, which is everyday cause I run a home daycare, my husbund bought me a back messager, this is really good, it's not a heating pad, it actually has roatating
messagers inside and you can use it with heat or with out heat, I use it everysday even when my back isn't bothering me to much, and it has helped a lot, I still have pain in the morning, sometimes I am up at 4:00am and go on my messager, we keep it on a chair in opur living room. My husband got it at wal greens, it's shaped like a small pillow, it has flap that covers the roating messagers, I use it watching movies, rocking my the baby to sleep that's in my daycare. It is made from Homedics. It works good for me. J.
Hi S.,
I feel for you and relate. I have cronic back issues, and I have worked with them by doing the following (thru 2 pregnancies, etc):
swim, swim, swim!
use high-end seat cushions
wear good walking/running shoes
walk regularly
weights/stretches daily
drink lots of water
BEST: swim!!!!!!!
Best wishes, S. R.
Dr. Sarah Johnson at Spine Wellness Center is wonderful. Its a different kind of chriopractic help. Me and my daughter see her personally and there are amazing stories of how its helped when nothing else has. Her number is ###-###-####. I hope you feel better soon!
I would highly recommend BodyPro Chiropractic and Wellness center in Santa Ana (877) 4BODYPRO. They also have a website - I don't remember the exact address but if you google BodyPro it will come up. They are chiropractors and nutritionists. My husband and I started driving up there from Oceanside (about 1 hour each way). My husband has had debilitating chronic pain in different parts of his body (back, upper and lower, shoulder, elbow and knee) for several years, and two visits with one of the doctors took the pain away completely. I highly recommend getting a consultation. I believe I heard on the radio that they are having a special this month for $39 or something like that. If the drive is workable for you, check it out!
I should add that they are not only chiropractors, they are also nutritionists and use accupressure. It was the accupressure that did the trick for my husband (and he has seen another chiropractor for several years). They specialize in natural, holistic healing and pain relief.
Hope you find some relief whatever you do!
