Babysitter Rates - Princeton,TX

I don't know if you are in the Frisco or Coppell area but there is a place called Kiddin Around that I take my kids to and they love it. It is a drop in daycare and cost $6.50 per hour. Their website is www.kiddinaroundplaycare.com . I have a hard time paying a teenage $8-$10 an hour to watch my child. Just does not seem right, when I don't make much more than that myself. I would rather pay a daycare center that kind of money, at least there are adults present at all times. There is also a place in Allen called Noah's Ark that is about the same rate.

I asked my 13 year old(who babysits)and she gave this advice.
She and her friend both charge 5 dollars an hour for one child over 2 or 3. She felt 8 was reasonable for children under 2 due to their extra needs more help with potty etc. Some of her friends make as much as 30 or 40 dollars for a 3-4 hour job. Most importantly make sure your sitter is Red Cross or YMCA trained (or any other good training center) in babysitting. They may cost a few dollars more but your childs safety is worth it.

Unfortunately, $8-$10 seems to be pretty standard. Shocking, but true. I remember when I was a teen, I would be lucky to get $3!

You may wish to inquire about the Parent's Night Out that some of the local childrens' gyms provide (My Gym, The Little Gym, Encouragym). I think they charge around $20-$25 for the entire evening and they provide lots of fun activities for the kiddos. Good luck to you!

I have two teenage babysitters that we use in our neighborhood and they charge $3.00 per hour. That is what they requested so I am shocked at the 8 dollars a hour. That seems way too high.
Maybe I am wrong on this and they are just charging a little lower. If you hear anything else about standard rates let me know.
