I just saw this on Pinterest....roll up a cute apron in a mason jar, tie a ribbon around it with a recipe card attached.

**I had three showers for my son... my family, in-laws and work friends. It was going to get pricey to do a gift for each hostess. Instead, I invited all of those ladies to come over for tea and cookies two weeks after the baby was born as a "thank you" and "come meet the bundle". It was really nice and in the end less expensive than purchasing $100 worth of votives and tea cups!

What about a pretty 5x7 frame with a notecard inside that says something like "For a picture of Baby _______ when he/she arrives" and then be sure to send or give the hosts a pic soon after the baby is born. You can get pretty inexpensive yet pretty ones at Ross or Marshall's or good sales at Michael's.

When I hosted for a friend, she gave me a cute carafe that could also have been used as a vase. There were three co-hosts and we all got one, so I don't think it was too expensive. It's very nice though and looks good on display in addition to making a nice vase or carafe! You could probably find something similar at bed bath and beyond.
