I have a Moby and I like it but it was sort of hard for me to learn how to use...I watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to use it and things are much better now.
Do any of you have a favorite wrap you use? I have a sling but it hurts my shoulder and is difficult to get the baby into.
I currently have one similar to the one Seven sells but it puts a lot of stress on my shoulder and I feel restricted in movement. I think I'll give the K'tan a try. It looks versatile and easier to figure out than some of the others. Price is reasonable too. I noticed they have some cute teething jewelry. Thanks!

I love my hotsling for less than an hour. If I'll be babywearing for longer, I use my Moby Wrap or my Beco Butterfly!
I have a hot sling, a moby, an ergo and a couple of random ones (i'm a sling snob, i know) My by far favorite though is my olives and applesauce carrier, easy to use, doesn't hurt my back and my sweet little man is already 12 pounds at 6 weeks old. and actually they go on sale at midnight and "Turning30" is the coupon code for free shipping. They are pricey but so worth it, and the only one my husband will even use.
I couldn't do the early months w/o my baby bjorn. for my older child, it's the same story but with the Ergo. i know they're not wraps. my daughter absolutely refused any soft carrier so we went this way. i love the structure, i feel like it helps me get the baby into position but it's still a soft enough carrier that we had no problems with the baby sleeping in them.
How old is your baby? I also absolutely love my Ergo. It's better for older babies though (5-6 months). I have tried a regular sling, Moby wrap, and Bjorn, but the Ergo is by far the comfiest because it distributes the weight more to your hips. And the way the baby is positioned, it's like getting a lovely full-body cuddle the whole time. Darn, they should give me an endorsement deal or something!l
I have a sling from the Seven company... Its the only thing that my littlest will not scream in! :-) I have friends who use Ergo and LOVE it...
Love the Moby for long days but it is no good in the hot weather unless you get a bamboo one. Other than that I always use my peanut shell sling.
I have a Baby Hawk Mei Tai, Baby K'Tan, and sling. The sling hurts now that I have a bad neck (loved it with previous child before the neck problem surfaced). Love the other two. The Baby K'Tan is a bit close fitting now that she is 6 months, getting heavier, and wanting to look around more, but nice in the house when she is tired and wanting to cuddle closer. I find the Baby Hawk the most flexible. The only thing I'm not totallly sold on are the straps when I'm out and about as I don't like the fact that they are on the ground (always trying to avoid that), so I am looking into a Boba (has optional foot straps to keep legs from dangling when they are older!) which is similar to the snap version of the Baby Hawk, Beco, Ergo, etc. fyi, can also look at the FSOT section of Diaperswappers; I picked up my Baby K'Tan there for less than half the price.
I love the Moby style wraps, or the Hug-A-Bub. You can get imitations that are less expensive, and as long as they are good fabric (like stretchy teeshirt material) and the right dimensions, they work well. I love them in particular because it distributes the weight evenly on your shoulders, and is VERY comfortable, even for long spans of time, hikes, etc. My child would mainly nap in these during the early years, when I was walking or just doing stuff around the house--and then I had 2 hands free to cook, etc. I recommend them highly. Plus they are great for colicky babes or just for bonding and attachment. http://www.mobywrap.com/
I also like the Ergo carrier for when my child was bigger, great because you can use it on front or back. http://www.ergobabycarrier.com/
I'm sure you can find all these types on ebay, used, etc.
Baby K'Tan. Loved it and could not have lived without it. It goes over both shoulders is easy to shift to adjust and works till you can't carry the weight anymore :). It's pre-looped so it takes the guess work out of having to figure that part out. The bonus was it's machine washable and can go in the dryer. So when it gets spit up on slobbery or just plain stinky in the wash it goes- no waiting for it to air dry etc, you can also nurse with it although I'm admittedly not quite that talented LOL. Got compliments and questions wherever we went with it too.
I have a Moby Wrap. It took a few weeks to get the hang of, but my daughter is 18 months and 30lbs and I still use it for her. I had a bjorn with my first, and I never used it with her, the moby is so much more comfortable and there are so many holds, I love my Moby.
Love love love my Ergo!
Love the moby! A little tricky to learn so try to find a friend that uses one and can show you, but a true life saver. I'd put mine on before I'd leave for errands and just pop the baby in and out every time I would stop.
I got a mei tai for the same reasons, after first borrowing & trying out a sling from a friend.. Go to Sprout Soup on High St in Cols and try on some of the baby carriers (you can bring your baby, or use their baby doll to try them out). You can try a bunch of different kinds of carriers. We tried on a bunch of carriers at Sprout Soup & picked out a mei tai. It's easy to adjust for the person carrying the baby (DH is a big guy & I'm petite), without much thought & even DH could figure out how to put it on.
i heard the moby was great and also ergo.I myself am looking for one as well! i had a baby bjorn for my son and i HATED it. It was soo heavy after a while.
