I boil my baby's water but if you buy nursery water you should be able to keep it at room temperature i did that with my 4 year old now. For my second baby I just boil tap water and keep it warm in a thermos like you said makes preparing formula much easier..

Tap water is ok for formula, too (as long as it's city water and not well water). I asked my pediatrician about the temperature. She said, as long as it's not too hot, temperature doesn't matter. We got our son used to fresh out of the fridge formula. Made night time feedings so much easier. We made up bottles before bed, then just pulled one out and popped it in his mouth. He was happy, and we got back to bed so much faster!

Baby water is just purified water, pure water doesn't go bad. It's a lot cheaper to use water from a purieing station if you have one near by( they are often found in front of your grocery store). It's ussually 25-35 cents a gallon and you refill the jugs (less waste).

As long as the container is closed then it should be fine. I would think that is is easier if it is room temp and should only take about 30 seconds to heat up in the microwave.
