Baby Waking Up

Our daughter has been sleeping thru the night for about 2 weeks now. We put her down at 8:15 to 8:30 and usually doesn't wake until 6 or so. Last night she awoke at 12:35am. I didn't know what to do. I tried the pacifier - lasted for just a bit. Tried to rock her. Finally I gave her a little of her bottle. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I just let her cry it out if it happens again tonight? She is 10 weeks-

What can I do next?

YOu baby gets enought nutrition from formula for the first 6 months of life. I would not give her cereal. IF she can't eat it with a spoon then she isn't ready. Cereal in a bottle can cause all sorts of other problems.Start baby on cereal in a bottle can cause pulminary issues as they may suck some down into their lungs. It can cause obesity, food allergies, Bad eating habits, and failure to thrive. Do a bit of reasearch before starting cereal. Studies show it doesn't help babies sleep longer. Babies at 10 weeks really shouldn't be sleeping through the night. Most breast babies won't go over 5 hours for months. Formula babies go longer because the formula doesn't digest as well or as quickly, so you are already ahead of the curve but your baby need to eat often to grow at the right rate for her body. Nap when you can and go to bed when she does. This is only a short time in your life and before you know it she will be a teenager and you will be missing sleep for other reasons.

I have three children and my middle daughter did that when she was about that age. I put just a little rice cereal (about 2 tbsps full) in her bottle before bed.You will have to buy a slitted nipple. I think it fills them up a little more than just the milk. It only went on for a little while and then she was fine. It worked for me.Good luck.

It's completely normal. Mine is 5 months now, and often changes her sleep patterns for a few days, only to go right back to normal. She might be going through a growth spurt.

my little man started sleeping through the night at 9 weeks and at 12 weeks started going no longer than 5 hours?? He s 13 weeks now, I am just leeting him nurse as long as he goes right back to sleep. Although I do try to hold him off with a paci first. My first 2 did the same thing as well. They will eventually go back to sleeping through the night, but some may need more help to do so. Don't stress it's normal.

If she is 10 weeks old, that is great if she will sleep all night. But if she's waking up, she is probably hungry. In my opinion, ten week olds should not be left to cry it out. Maybe after 6 months or so. Good Luck! :)
