Baby Trend Sit 'N Stand Stroller... Thoughts? Opinions?

We are expecting baby #3 any day now. My husband decided that this stroller is his "must have" for when the new baby arrives. Our daughters are almost 8 and 3 years old. We currently have a Graco stroller (single seat) that completes the set with the baby carrier, etc. But I'm thinking it might be a good idea to have at least have an option for our 3 year old when we are out if she gets tired of walking.

Any moms have any positive or negative reviews on this stroller? I've done some research online and EVERYTHING I've read has been mixed. Some absolutely love it & highly recommend it, others hate it & say to stay away! LOL

Thanks for your input mamas!

So What Happened?

We love it! I think we have the XL model and I am so happy we decided to purchase this stroller. We have used it many times already and I can't imagine not having it! It works with our Graco infant seat and our 3.5 yr old loves having the option to sit/stand when she gets tired of walking. We took this stroller on our mini-vacations this summer and found that it actually folded down smaller than our Graco stroller. Definitely recommend! Thanks for your input mamas!

I love mine! I have a 23 month old & a 5 month old who use it. I'd be lost without it sometimes. Best investment we've made as far as baby gear goes.

I have this stroller and it is great. The only problem is that we had to get a new car seat because the Evenflow seat we had did not work with this system. I advise that you got to the store and check to see that your seat works. (we called and they told us it fit, then went to the store and it didn't).

I don't hate it, but I didn't use it as much as I thought I would. My daughter was 2 yrs. 5 months when my son was born and really, the only time we have used it was for the zoo a few times and when we went to Sea World. The seats don't recline much, so as the baby gets older, it's hard for them to sleep in it (once they are out of the infant seat). I thought this stroller was going to be the end all, be all for us and it just wasn't. Like I said, it worked for the few times we used it, but it was just as easy for me when my son was little to carry him in the Baby Bjorn and just use a single stroller for my daughter. Then, when she wanted to walk, I could put the baby in there.

If you can find one used on craigslist or in a consignment shop, it might be worth it, but I personally don't feel like I got my money's worth out of it. My daughter is 4 now and my son is almost 2 and we hardly every use a stroller at all anymore. I will probably end up selling mine and just get a wagon or something! It IS a good stroller, so I think you will like it if you get it. It just depends on how much you are really out somewhere where you'll use it (grocery stores and other stores you can just put them in a cart, you might use it at the mall if you're there often, the zoo or other outings like that maybe). Keep in mind that it's pretty big and heavy, so it may not be something you'll want to just keep in your car at all times either. I don't!

Hope this helps.

WE LOVE IT!!!

I've had 2 different Baby Trend strollers (and a Graco, and a Contours Lite, and a Combi, and a Maclaren, and a couple others I can't recall the names of - I'm a stroller junkie) so I have a well rounded idea of how strollers hold up and function. And unlike the other poster who said that the plastic is cheap and breaks easily, I used my Baby Trend single lightweight stroller FAR (far, far, far) beyond the recommend weight limit with my son, and it never even so much as hinted that it couldn't handle him! LOL There will always be those more or less fluke-ish experiences people have with products breaking and such...

I think that for the price, it's a wonderful stroller, and I've had no problems whatsoever with either of my Baby Trend's. Yes, you could spend more to get a Joovy, which is also nice, but in my opinion, it's just not necessary.

I vote YES, go for the Baby Trend Sit-N-Stand!! My son was 3 when we got it, and he loved, and still appreciates being able to hitch a standing ride if he doesn't feel like walking, and ride sitting if he's tired. And he loves being able to get in and out as he pleases. It's perfect!

I loved mine....we used it all the time and my kids were 2 years apart. 2 drawbacks were that it didn't fold up very small so it took up quite a bit of room in the trunk and the seat didn't recline to lay the baby down(but mine never slept in the stroller anyways). The pros definitely out-weighed the cons for us and we used ours until my youngest was old enough to not be in a stroller anymore! Hope that helps!

My kids are 3 1/2 years apart. We got this when our youngest was ~6 months old and used it a lot for outings for about 2 years. No complaints. Would recommend for those "big stroller"-times. We also kept 2 umbrella strollers in the car for "little-stroller"- occassions.

I had one with my newborn and 3 1/2 year old and loved it. It also came in handy when my 6 year old broke his leg.

i have one of these, got it when i was pregnant with my 3rd, my others were 2 1/2 and 5 at the time and it worked great with them. i havent used it much lately as my 20mth old doesnt like to sit in a stroller, so i usually dont take one with me. it also let you attach the infant seat to the stroller, i had a graco as well

its awful! the plastic breaks very easily. If you are going to do the sit and stand model, then do yourself a favor and invest the extra 40 bucks into a joovy! they are AMAZING. i bought one on ebay for the cost of a baby trend and it is the best investment that i have ever made as far as strollers go!
