Baby Towels??

Before my daughter was born, I got a few baby towels from her great grandmother. I love them because they have the little hoods, but now she's just too big for them. I can't wrap her up in them any more. I've been looking at some Gerber towels when I go to the store, but I don't know how big they are. Does anyone have any ideas? I've been using a regular towel, but without the hood, she just SCREAMS when I try to dry her hair.

What can I do next?

I use the hoodie towels from 3 Marthas for my 2yo. http://www.blueberrybabies.com/3mbath.html
They are too cute, thick and wide!

Try www.towelbuddies.com. I have 4 towels from them. They have full size towels in all different fun styles. I still use them on my 5 and 3 year old boys.

Someone made me the best gift for one of my showers. She bought two really soft adult sized bath towels and two coordinating wash cloths. She sewed the wash cloths to the towels and made homemade baby towels for me. They are my favorite. They're bigger, softer, and more absorbent than any of the baby towels. Also, the way the wash cloths are attached is actually better than the way baby towels are made. With baby towels the hood is attached at a corner. With adult towels, you know there are the long sides and the short sides and you wrap the towel around you longways, well the wash cloths are attached to the middle of one of the long sides so theres more towel to wrap around him. If you can sew, or know someone who can, you should try this.

Hi M.. I ran into the same problem with my oldest, but someone had made me the adult size bath towels with wash rags stitched on for the hoods. They are wonderful!!!! I have since made several of them as baby shower gifts because I love them so much and they are so simple to make.

I was going to say the same thing as the first mom about sewing some. A whole lot cheaper as well. :)

I only used the baby towels for as long as they "fit" then I just switched to regular towels so I wouldn't be much help. You wind up with SO much baby 'stuff' in the end that things like this just seem superficial in the grand scheme of things to me... just a waste of money... if nothing else, buy some regular towels and find some cute washcloths and just sew om some "hoods" yourself... at least that way they'd last a while. I never kept my kiddo in a towel longer than a few seconds... it could just be getting used to something new.

My son just loved his duck hoodie towel as a baby. I found a bigger one at Kohls. He doesn't stay in it long, but asks for it every time.

As Jane mentioned, Kohls has bigger towels with hoods. My son loves his puppy towel from there.

Swankie BLankie makes some good ones as well as Little GIraffe. THe Swankie Blankie ones are really nice, but they are a little pricey They are full size blankets with hoods sewn in the middle of the long side. SO are the Little Giraffe ones but the material is really thin. They are good for the pool so little ones won't get too hot!
