N.P.
I looked into this when my oldest was an infant and I had people randomly knocking on my car window to tell me how pretty she was. I found that it is basically a full time job, and I couldn't commit to that so I never did it.
I know I'm bias, but I think my baby and toddler are pretty cute. They also LOVE having their pictures taken. Does anyone know how you get your baby/toddler involved with modeling for stores like Old Navy, Gap, etc??

Hi D.,
The two places you might want to check out are : www.auditiondivisionltd.com and www.highlite.com. These places are great for families who are flexible and may not be trying to get into serious modeling, but looking to make extra money. However, it can sometimes lead to major opportunities. They will even help you get pictures!
All the Best,
D.
The first step is to find an agency to represent your little ones. My daughter did a small amount of modeling when she was a baby, but it became too much of a burden to continue once my second came along. Almost all 'look-sees' and shoots are in the city and you are given 1-2 days notice at most. Also most agencys will allow you to provide your own pics until a kid is around 4-5, they then expect pricy professional face cards. The pay was not worth all the driving and missed naps!
These are the agencies that we used:
Lily's Talent & Shirley Hamilton
Good luck!
Look for modeling agents not schools. Good Luck
Check out www.cutekid.com, I think that's the site. I've only seen their ads but don't really know how it works.
When my oldest was a baby I thought I would give modeling a try (for her). I sent her picture with a letter describing her personality to modeling agencies. (I was told this is the best way to start getting involved by some friends in the industry) The agencies that were interested in representing us sent a letter back. One of them that wanted to represent her had us obtain a work permit. After a couple auditions I decided this was NOT for us so we stopped. Good luck!
My daughter models for Ford modeling agency. They are located in the West Loop of Chicago and all of her jobs have been in Chicago. She started when she was a little over a year and has had a few jobs a year and she is now 3 1/2.
I enjoyed modeling with both of my kids. The most important pieces of advice I can give you is
1. You should never pay to be a in a agency or be asked to submit profressional pictures before they are 3 years old.
2. You must be very flexible and willing to wait for long peroids of time in small studios. Most look sees (photo shot try out) are in the city. 3. Don't expect to make much money. I did it for the experience and "proof" of being involved. We have packages, posters and a commerical that are fun to have. The commerical payed well, but the rest was pretty minimal. We stopped when she went into 1st grade, but it was fun while it lasted. Good luck and watch out for scams! Some names to contact are: Stewart Talant, Ford Modeling and Lilly's Talent
