Hi!

It's my little guy's first Christmas, and I'm looking for ideas for a good, inexpensive way to 'remember it'. I've thought about taking his picture and putting it in an ornament, or maybe taking his hand prints. What have you guys done to commerate this big event??
Thanks!

What can I do next?

I haven't actually done this, but I have heard of the idea of getting a plain tree skirt and put their painted handprints on them with the date then do it every year and see how much they have grown and it will be a keepsake.

I have on my tree her "babies first ornament" we bought her...I saw a Target this weekend a cute package deal with all these cute Babies First Ornaments in it. I wish they had that when my baby was born.

Well...we have a picture Ornament with her First Photo when she was born in it and then another hand made picture Ornament with her picture during the month of Christmas in it. This year I have another hand made ornament with her current pic in it. As each year passes...we add another pic of her during that Christmas year. So we can see what she looks like every Christmas as she gets older.

Her daycare during gave us an Ornament with a print of her thumb on it (white print) and they drew a face and hat on it so it looked like a snow man. And put her name in glitter on the other size and added a laminated card with this on it:

This isn't just a little snowman
As anyone can see.
I made it with my thumb
Which is a part of me.
Now each year when you trin the tree
You'll look back and recall
Christmas of 200_
When my thumb was just this small!

I have to say that I just love it!!!!

I took a picture of my son in front of the Christmas Tree in nothing but his birthday suit and a Santa Claus hat. I put him on a blanket (so he wouldn't pee on the carpet, just in case) facing the tree so the only thing the pic showed was him wearing the hat and his cute little rear looking at the tree. I made it into a Christmas ornament and it WILL go on the tree every year. I know there will come a day when my son will want to throw it away because it will be embaressing but that is a mother's right, right?
