Fisher price cradle swing, my DD loved it it goes front to back and can switch to side to side, most of the models come with a a/c adapter.
I am pregnant with my second baby. With my DD I had a travel swing which, well, sucked. Once she got a little bigger the swing would not go very fast, barely moved in fact, and she was not a very big baby. (actually it didn't go that fast when she was a newborn, but fast enough for her liking She hated it once it started slowing down.. SO, can anyone recommend a swing that you absoultely LOVE! I would love one that had an ac adapter since we went through batteries like crazy, but if I can find a great swing I will deal with it being battery operated....
Thanks!

I highly recommened getting a swing that swings from side to side and back and forth. We had a fisher price one and at times was a life saver. It held up very well too - we used it for our 3 kids and it has been used by 3 others as well. I don't think it has an ac adapter, but we got two sets of rechargable batteries and they worked great (and now we use them for the big kids toys) Good luck!
We had the Fisher Price My Little Lamb Craddle N' Swing. We loved it and so did our daughter. We even packed it nicely away for the next child we have. It did run on batteries. So what we did was invest in a battery charger and rechargable batteries. With everything she had that required batteries, it was actually a great investment. Even with it running on batteries we only needed to recharge them once every couple of weeks.
Congrats!
I love our fisher price swing, the seat rotates so they can swing front to back or side to side. It doesn't have a ac adapter, but it's about 6 years old, going on use with baby #3!
We used the fisher price papasan design swing for two kids - both loved it...not sure that it has an ac adapter, but I never really turned it on...I would just give it a push, and nudge it whenever it slowed down - seemed to be enough for my kids!
I have the Rain Forest Swing - I can turn the seat to go side ways or back and forth. It is awesome - runs on batteries or AC adaptor. Look on Craigslist. I got mine there for half the price and it was clean and nice and has worked great!!
We have the fisher price ocean wonders aquarium cradle swing as well as the smaller travel swing. Our daughters love both. Our 4 yr old was developed pnuemonia at 6 weeks and was not allowed to lay flat during that time. DR advised reclining swing seat to incline. She slept through the night from then on. She slept in the swing for several months so it went all night long. Our 7 month old was born with tracheomalacia so she can not sleep flat either. She's in the swing all night as well. It can be battery operated or ac adapter. We've put alot of miles on this swing and it keeps going. Shortly after we purchased it the motor froze. I called FP and they overnighted me a new top section at no charge and it's worked perfectly ever since.
Ours was the Fisher Price rainforest papasan style swing. We liked it and were sad that she outgrew it. Didn't seem to chew batteries, either. I think we only replaced them once.
automatic swings are not good for babies anyway. a cradle that you could rock would be better, or better yet hold her and rock her.
I really like the Fisher-Price Rainforest swing. It has a plug in and goes nice and fast. My son loved it.
Both my kids (now 5 and 15 months) never liked swings much...fast or slow. I used a bouncer seat for them since the swings were sold after getting very very little use. Both of my kids loved their bouncy chairs and would even sleep there. Maybe try that before putting out extra money for a swing. They have diff ones w/ mobiles, music, vibration, etc.
my husband bought a regular swing for three year olds and up its a fisher price it's the kind of swing that you put out but he screwed it up inside our house on the roof and our for month old loved it ofcoarse we had to push but he would stay in it for about two hours he would even fall asleep. hope that helps
