I'm working as a Nanny in Wash Park area. The baby will turn six months next week and we would like to get him started in a baby signing class soon. Does anyone know of a good class? And has this really been a good thing?

What can I do next?

I just got a baby signing book and started using some basic signs when my children were about 7 mos. old. They started using them around 9 mos. It was wonderful! I don't know about the classes. Just using the book worked great for us! I even had both sets of grandparents read it/use it. I don't see a need for a class really.

Baby Signing Times videos are THE BEST! They are not only enjoyable but they really work. My daughter is two and can sign pretty well. Plus, there are certified signing times instructors all over the city that can come to your home or you can go to theirs. I know of one person if you are interested.

Baby Signs is great! I used them with my first daughter and am enjoying how naturally it's been happening with my second. The only issue I ran into was making a distinction between "SIGNING" and "SAYING" words, which I'm correcting this time around.
Have fun! When they start signing it's amazing what they might "say"!
