You give everyone a piece of bubble gum and while blindfolded they try to shape it into a baby. The mommy-to-be chooses her favorite for the winner.
Ok, what is your all time favorite baby shower game. I am giving a shower in about a month and would like to have some fun!!!
Thanks...
You give everyone a piece of bubble gum and while blindfolded they try to shape it into a baby. The mommy-to-be chooses her favorite for the winner.
How about guess the baby food jar? You get 10 different jars of baby food. Take off the labels & mark them 1-10. Then you can pass them around & the person who has the most right wins.
Loved the poopie diaper candy bar guess game. I also like to make a handout with the parent's name(s) on the top and blank lines underneath. The guests need use only the letters in the parents names to come up with baby names. The person with the most names wins. Also can do baby items.
At my shower, my girlfriend gave guests handouts with a writing prompt (can you tell we are all teachers:-) that the person completed with a short story. We called my first son Elvis in the womb. She put all the stories together and had her nephew (that I just adore) draw illustrations for the each page, and made me a book of Elvis' firsts. We have hilarious stories of Elvis' first steps, first words, first day of preschool, first day of kinder, on and on, that included driving and college. I LOVE reading it and just howling!!
I have a fabulous baby shower "activity," (it's not really a game), it's better. You can go to etsy.com and search for personalized baby shower burp cloths by Scarlet Thread Quilts. They are so adorable, sentimental and it's a very classy way to have a fun activity at a baby shower that is actually useful to the mom and baby. I purchased these burp cloths and requested the colors to match the colors of the shower. They came packaged together with pens for all guests to sign personal messages to mom and baby. And the fabrics were more outrageous than pictured and than I ever imagined. It was a hit. Everyone at the shower wanted to know where I got them so that they could get more! I think the package is only $25. Good Luck!
OMG, I have TWO fav's. One works for co-ed showers better.
For all parties, ladies only or co-ed.
10 diapers
10 different type of candy bars
Take a piece of one of the candy bars, melt it on a plate in the microwave till it's super gooey, spoon it off the plate and wipe in diaper number 1 (remember to write down which one is in which diaper), repeat thru the 10th diaper.
Tell people whoever guesses all of the candy bars correctly wins.
remember to have your cameras ready because people will stoop to licking to find out what kind it is.......this makes for an awesome "ewwwwwww, you licked a diaper" photo.
:)
2- for co-e dparties, POTATOE bowling.
The men get quit competitive in this one. Put a potatoe in the leg of a stocking, tie the stocking around their waist with the potatoe hanging just about mid-calf. Tell them have to knock over the pins (we usually use bottles filled with jelly beans) without stepping over a designated line, without using their hands, only swinging their hips.......oh it's really worth video taping as the men try to out do the other men with their "moves".
Hope there is one you like, they both are pretty fun. However the last one DID sort of offend my grandmother, because as she put it, "it's not a game tehy would have played in her day and age".
She did laugh though.

Here are some different games that my sisters and I have done for different baby showers. Some are interative than others.
1. Guess how many candies are in a jar.
2. Guess how many diaper pins are in a bottle.
3. If the parents haven't picked decided on a name yet but have options, have everyone guess what the babies name will be.
4. Gift Bingo. Have a bingo card with blank squares. Have everyone fill in each box with the different gifts they can think of (that they think the mommy to be is going to get). As she opens gifts you can cross them off... and try to get a BINGO! it's really fun, and entertaining while she is opening gifts.
I have more... but I'll stop there :)
One of the best and most fun games that I have ever played (and played at my shower and everyone loved it) is "birth the baby" game. You take miniature plastic babys (purchased from wishing well or similar store) and freeze them in ice cube trays (with water); esentially making ice cubes with the baby inside. Then give everyone a dish towel and an ice cube. Tell them the first one to birth the baby (melt the ice cube and get the doll out) wins. You would be amazed and the creative ways people will melt the ice. It is great for lots of laughs.
P.
I loved the one where you get about five tiny clothes pins on your shirt and whenever someone catches you crossing your legs you have to give them one. At cake time the person with the most won the little prize.
The funniest is name that candy...you have 10 baby diapers and ten different kinds of candy...place candy in diaper and melt on low in the oven...pass the diapers around and name that candy...if its a co-ed shower...the guys usually cheat by tasting...gross but funny...
I agree with a few others- Gift Bingo is a hit at any shower. I give everyone a blank bingo card and they fill out the card with gifts that they think the mama-to-be will get. It's amazing to see how exciting diapers can be when you get to cross them off of your bingo card. Often the room will erupt into a loud "Yes!" afer a gift people are waiting to cross off of their card. It makes opening presents as much fun for the guests as it is for mama. I like to give a prize to the first one to get Bingo and then the next 3-5 after them get mini-prizes (a candy bag, or a little picture frame). It's easy to make a template on the computer and then jsut make copies. For extra fun, you can even decorate the bingo cards or instead of BINGO, play the game using the baby's name or the mom's name. Or just use pictures of baby items for each column.
You are going to give such a fun shower with all the great idea's! One I also like is have everyone bring a picture of when they were a baby and everyone try's to match each other up to their baby picture. You pin the pictures to a board and #them then people write down on paper who they think each baby is. Have fun
I have thrown more baby showers than I can count and I know a lot of games. Here are four of the best in my opinion. 1. Memory Game - Set up a table with various baby products ie. pacifier, baby lotion, teether, etc. Around 25 items or so. Cover with a baby blanket, and when the time comes let everyone look at the items for about two minutes. Cover them back up and have people write down what they remember. The person who remembered the most items wins.
2. Give everyone a blank piece of paper, without looking - hands behind back, they need to try to tear out the shape of a baby. The mother to be gets to vote for the best one. This is probably one of my favorites!
3. Measure the belly with toilet paper or string. Have everyone guess how many squares of TP it takes to wrap around the prego or cut off pieces of string and then measure with the original.
4. This is another fun and hilarious one. Take newborn disposable diapers and put a spoonful of baby food in each one. (peas, green beans, carrots, peaches, apricots, sweet potatoes, pears, apples, and squash are the best )Number the diapers and make a key of which kind is in each one. Pass the diapers around and have each person smell them NOT taste them. Who ever can identify all or the most flavors wins.
One of the craziest games we've played is to take different kinds of chocolate bars and slightly melt them inside a diaper (using a microwave). The game is to see who can identify the largest number of the candy bars, ie Babe Ruth, Butterfinger, Mars bar, etc.
Of course, your imagination goes wild.
E.
Have the mommy to be walk around with a tray full of baby stuff. All the attentdees get a couple minutes to soak up all the items so they can try to remember them. You tell them they only have a few minutes to look at everything. When the mommy to be/guest of honor leaves the room, the rest of the attendees THINK you're going to ask them to write down all the things they can remember that were on the tray. But instead of asking them that, you ask them to write down everything they remember about what the mommy to be is wearing!! All the details. Whoever gets the most accurate details about what your guest of honor is wearing wins.
The baby food tasting where you just get about 6-8 jars of food and plastic spoons and people get a taste and try to guess what it is. Another is to guess what kind of candy bar where you get some baby diapers and put a piece of choclate candy bar in it and the guests have to guess what kind of candy it is. Of course melt it a little and it looks like baby poop. It is funny watching people smell the diaper. I also went to one where they had molding clay and each guest made a baby that was baked a the best baby maker wins then the mom gets to keep them.
Not a game per say but my sister did a really nice thing at my shower. She brought scrape booking supplies (lots a baby theme stuff) and each person made a page and wrote something to me on it leaving space for pictures, my sister took pictures at the shower and put them on the pages and sent me this beautiful scrape book of my shower with all these wonderful things people wrote to me. Some advice, some little fun sayings, lots of well wishing she also made pages of the games and of who won. This is really good for someone who likes to scrape book and is very creative. And the mommy gets a beautiful scrape book to look back at and remember the shower.

I was just given a shower this past weekend. A game we played was "My Water Broke!". You buy some of those tiny plastic babies that are used as decorations, and freeze them in an ice cube try of water. You them put each ice cube baby in a plastic cup and the person has to try to melt the ice first. When the baby is free of the ice you shout "My Water Broke!" and that person wins a prize. It was an awesome game. We also did the candy bar melted in a diaper, that stuff starts looking VERY real, lol.
You could write up a "Mad Lib" with a baby theme and have everyone take turns reading it. Another game - kinda cruel - measure the mom-to-be's belly with TP and have everyone guess how many squares she is.
Mad libs are a lot of fun - you can pick up a tablet of them at a drug store to get an idea of how to do one yourself.
I asked everyone to suggest a baby name - we were at a total impasse. Some of the names were very funny and we actually picked a name from the game. ;)
Clay babies. Everyone gets a hunk of clay (we used the crayola air dry clay) and they have to make a baby out of it. Mom picks the one she likes the most and it gets a prize. Since we used the air dry clay you get to keep the babies. I still have my two favorites from my shower last year.
Didn't read the responses so sorry if this is a repeat. This is not a game but it is fun & gives the Mom something nice to go home with. For 1 group of my friend's baby showers' we buy fabric pens (walmart has them) & cloth white diapers (Target has them-not the birsdeye, the thicker ones)) or white onesies & each person decorates one for the baby. Since the friend who threw me my shower didn't know about this tradition in my other group of friends & I really wanted to have cloth diapers personalized. I bought my own pens & diapers & as each person came to visit my baby when I was home from the hospital I had them each make one for her. They are really cute & it gives them that personal touch. Since they are colorful she has also found them very interesting to look @ since she was about a month old.
There are tons out there ...
1. Various chocolate bars (melted probably) in a diaper and have people guess what bar was used (Mars, Twix and etc.).
2. Crossword games that have to do with pregnancy.
3. The yarn game where you guess how big the mommy to be's belly is.
4. How fast can you change a diaper. Get a cabbage patch doll or any doll really and put clothes on it and have a cloth diaper or if you want, a real one, and see how fast someone can take off and put back all the clothes on the baby doll.
5. If there happens to be guys at the party, you can see how fast they can drink beer out of a baby bottle.
6. Have everyone wear a safety pin (the ones that are either blue or pink) and if anyone says the word "baby" then they get their pin taken away. The one with the most pins win.
Ok ... those are the ones that I've seen in the past. Good luck with the party!
I am a big fan of the poopy diaper game but it looks like that one has been said already. So..... here's another one that I haven't seen posted below yet. It's called:
One handed diaper changing. Two people race against each other by placing one hand behind their backs and they have to change a diaper on a doll with one hand. It is really funny and a lot harder than it looks. The one with the fasted time wins.
Just went to a shower last weekend & there was a great game we played. Baby shower bingo. Each guest was given a large card (4x6) & asked to make 16 squares. Within those squares you were instructed to write down 16 different baby gift items. Then as the mommy-to-be opened her gifts, you marked off when something you wrote in the square was opened. The game continues until you've got a bingo! If there are an abundance of gifts, you can continue to play until you have a black out. It was fun and alleviated the boredom of watching someone open a ton of baby gifts.
Hello!
Well, this might not be a traditional baby shower game - but it is ALWAYS a hit, no matter what type of shower it is.
Here goes: This game is called the Candy Game. You have them number their papers from (1) to ...? The object of the game is to figure out what type of candy you are referring to. Here are a few examples: (1)Slippery Digits = Butterfinger; (2) Snide giggle = Snickers; (3) Happy Farmer = Jolly Rancher; (4)A Real Stud = Big Hunk; (5) E.T.'s favorite = Reeces Pieces......you get the idea. Anyway, the list can go on and on.....just depends on how many YOU want to do. I have gone to the store before I stood in front of the candy section and made up all kinds of goofy names for the candy.
I know it isn't a typical baby shower game, but it IS a lot of fun. If you think you would like to do it and need some more hints and alternative candy names, let me know - I've done this game for years!!!
Good Luck!!

There are tons of games you can find online. But one of my favorites is having everyone place a paper plate on top of their head and drawing a baby with a crayon. The babies look funny and some are real good. The mother to be gets to choose the winner.
My baby came early and was born the day of her baby shower, so I didn't get to play many games. But here are some of my favorites:
I like the "guess the baby food" game. You cover up the labels on 10 jars of baby food, pass them around, and the guests have to write down their answers (you can hand out pens and paper then ask everyone to number from 1 - 10). Whoever gets the most correct answers gets a prize and the mom-to-be keeps the baby food for when the baby is ready for it.
I also like the "guess the object" game. You put 10 baby related items (pacifier, rattle, bottle brush, nasal aspirator, etc..) in separate bags - numbered, pass them around, and the guests have to try and identify what's in each bag by feeling it. Winner gets a prize and the new mom gets to keep the items. The answers some people come up with are hilarious!!
I also like word scramble games. But my all time favorite is the "clothes pin game". You give each guest a clothes pin and each time somebody says the word "baby" or crosses their legs (or both), the person who heard/saw it first takes the clothes pin away. The object is to get as many clothes pins as possible.
Another fun game is to blow up a few balloons, pick a few people from the party, blindfold them and have them put a onesie on their "baby". This is supposed to simulate changing your child in the dark. You can also do this with cloth diapers and safety pins. It's fun to watch, especially if there are men or non-moms at the party.
I hope this helps. There are some good party game books out there, but I'm sure what ever you come up with will be fun and memorable.

Hi B. :o)
I think my favorite game has been when I get about 7 MINI candy bars, squish them into a numbered infant diaper, then microwave them for about 2 minutes, then squish them again. It looks like a "poopy diaper".
The game is that everyone has a paper with numbers coordinated with your diapers. They have to "guess" and write the name of the candy bar that is in each diaper. Obviously, the one who guesses the most correct candy bars is the winner.
It's alot of fun watching people get "close" to the candy bars trying to smell and figure out what candy bar it is. Only one rule: NO TASTING!
Hope that is the type of fun that you were looking for!
Many Blessings to the growing family!
:o) N.
If the shower is coed, my favorite for men is to fill a set of bottles with beer and have them race to finish the bottle. It's pretty funny to watch and the men can't believe how hard it is too get that stuff through the nipple.... plus they actually get into it! LOL
A friend of mine had a clever alternative to the game where you pass baby items around in a basket and then have to try to remember as many as you can. The mom to be walked around the room carrying a tray full of baby items for everyone to see. She then left the room with it and the host said "Now write down as many things as you can remember that she was wearing". Nobody was expecting that!
At another shower, the host had a cute basket of newborn diapers for everyone to write messages and words of encouragement on for those middle of the night diaper changes.
And at my shower, we were divided into teams, each getting a teddy bear, a diaper, a onesie & a baby bottle of water. One person on each team had to diaper the bear, another put on the onesie and the third had to drink the water from the baby bottle. Team that finishes first wins.
This works for any type of shower, really but I always love to do "gift bingo" during the opening of presents. It helps keeps the guests busy especially if there are a lot of gifts it can drag (even cute baby gifts) You can probablly find a template on line, or make your own. You fill the squares in with gifts from the registry or typical baby gifts.
Hello,
At my baby shower the invitation said something like..Get a raffle ticket for each diaper pack brought. We gave out 4 gift certificates for prizes. My friends loved it and I got diapers!!
Draw a baby on a paper and the mommy to be picks the best one. However the paper has to be behind your back or on your head. Or you give each person a paper and they have to rip the paper so it looks like a baby and the mommy to be picks the best one. And again it has to be behind the back.
Measure the tummy with a string.
You can also have a boddie/sock tree. Each person brings in socks or boddies and can can place them on a tree (can purchase at a craft store) and that can be your center piece on the table.
Diaper game - melt chocolate candy in diaper and each person has to guess what type of candly bar it is. Such as Snickers, Reeses....
Baby food game - Remove the labels of several baby jars and they have to guess what they are. They can sniff it or eat it. You can make it easy or hard.
The Clothes line pins. Each person receives a pin and if they cross their legs and someone sees it they remove all the pins. The person with the most pins at the end of the party wins a prize.
I also had a teddy bear and each guest signed as they came in. They also addressed an envelope and I used that to send my Thank you cards. Great idea!!!
Take several baby items and place them on a tray. Take the tray around the room and then remove the tray from the room and then asked the quest to list as many items as they can remember on the tray. Whoever has the most items wins.
You can also send the mommy out of the room (do not tell anyone) and then tell the quest to write down everything the mommy was wearing. Whoever gets the most correct wins a prize.
These are just some ideas I have.
Have a great time and I am sure whatever you do will be great.

I like the potatoe baby, you take a sack of potatoes about the size of a newborn, and wrap them in a recieving blanket and know what the actual weight of the potatoes is and have everyone guess the wieght. whomever has the closest guess, wins.
A.
My favorite game is when you fill the small baby bottles up with some sort of drink and have a drinking contest to see who can suck the fastest creates a lot of laughs
My shower was a month ago and one fun thing we did was decorate white onsies/t-shirts with fabric pens. I had a big shower which is often tough to play organized games at, so this was perfect for people to just grab a onsie and decorate at their liesure. I got tons of adorable shirts... and in all different sizes as well (0 to 18 monthes). If you have kids at the shower (which I did) they really loved this game. :- ) Have fun!
I did a shower and we played "BABY FEAR FACTOR"
We had 2 teams of 4..., but don't tell them what they are playing before the teams are picked... It is sooo much fun to watch and super hilarious. We had it written on 2 large construction sized boards covered and not brought out until the game. So no one cheated... Don't tell anyone your game so it won't leak out...
1st 2 players they had to eat a stage 2 jar of baby food with a BABY spoon... We did not go too gross... we did PEACHES and APRICOTS, but you can use squash and peas or carrots and green beans....
2nd 2 players had to drink baby juice from a bottle (just get an extra set of nipples for the bottles for the adults, with more or bigger holes. This way you don't mess up the nipples for the baby) Get a mixed fruit juice so it looks gross.... or get the V-8 splash mix carrot one....
3rd 2 players we had 5 diapers each with a different sauce inside and they had to touch it with their finger and taste it blind folded... We had someone else before the diapers were open blind fold and plug the nose. This way they couldn't see what it was or smell it....)We used ketchup, mustard, A-1 sauce, bque and use something else kinda gross like horseradish or something... The rest of the team CANNOT answer these diapers for her... The only one to answer is the one blind folded or they are disqualified...
4th 2 players we put those tiny letters for soup (found in the mexican isle of the store) we used two bags for each player. Dumped them into a bowl and they had to spell the full ----- 1st, middle and last names of the mom and dad and if they know the sex and name of baby they had to spell that too.
Winning team was the team completed 1st....
This is LOTS of fun...
Good luck, let me know how it goes if you try it....
We did a game where you place a paper plate on your head and draw a baby or a babies face on it without looking. Whoever has the best one wins.
The logical ones I've done is having people write their names and addresses on the outside of the thank you note envelopes and you do a drawing. I helps with the thank you notes.
Have fun!
Have everyone bring a photo of themselves as babies. Then post the pictures on a large board, and have guests match the picture (numbered) with the guest names. It's fun and gets you in the cute-baby mood!
Tasting baby foods and trying to guess what they are.
A fun game is...guess the melted candy in the baby diaper. Take NB diapers melt small candy bars (ie snickers, baby ruth, mr good bar etc) put one in each diaper, number the diapers pass them around the room and see who can get the most right! It's fun to watch...and no smelling or touching.
At my last shower we did (1) name the baby animals (2) name any songs that have the word baby in them and of course the favorite (3) tasting and guessing, which baby food is this? and (4) who can finish a drink from a baby bottle the fastest (very funny to watch).
Good luck!
Jen
Busy mom laundry game: need a clothes line tacked up, clothespins, a basket of baby clothes, a doll (cabbage patch works well) and a phone. Object is to hold the phone like you are talking on it and the doll and hang the clothes up. I cannot remember if we had a full minute or less to do this and the person with the most items on the line who doesn't drop the baby doll wins.
Another fun one is the sock match: Buy the mom to be several packets of colorful and patterned socks, a small laundry basket (check dollar store) or a delicates mesh bag for the laundry. Separate and put all socks in the basket or the mesh bag and set a timer for one minute and see who can match and fold into balls the most pairs of socks.
Hi B.,
I'm too am a big fan of the gift Bingo!
I also like the basket of baby stuff passed around the room. Each person is allowed a few moments to check it out then pass along. Towards the end of the party each player fills out as many items as they can remember. Winner is the one with the most correct items and the mother to be leaves with an extra prize of whatever was in the basket.
AND, I while it's not a "game"... Plain white onesies and fabric paint makes for some very unique (and hilarious depending on your group) and personalized onesies!
LASTLY, my sister had a raffle at my shower. 1 ticket for baby wipes and 2 tickets for baby diapers. We didn't have to buy diapers for at least 1 full month after my little guy was born and even longer for wipes. I thought it was great and someone left with a $20 gift card.
Have fun!
B.,
How about the one where you put a couple babypins in a bowl of uncooked rice. The person should be blindfolded. Then they need to pick out as many baby pins as they can. Don't use the baby pins with plastic on them (as they are too easy to find).
Or there are a couple different baby diaper games. One you cut out a small diaper shape(out of inexpensive white cotton, you can use an old sheet too...it should be small enough to attach to your shirt) then put your guests names on them. Each guest gets one. When a person at the party says a certain word,(such as baby, or due date,or maybe the name of the child?) and you hear them say it then you ask them for thier name badge(diaper). The person with the most at the end of the party wins...not only did they get to know the other people's names etc...but they win a prize! i liked this one especially if not everyone knows eachother.
There are several versions of that game. Some will put a brown mark inside only one diaper & the person who has the "Dirty" diaper wins a prize. That game is a lil icky & you don't get the opportunity to get introduced to people.
Then the one that the pregnant person usually hates. Take a string or some people use toilet tissue, and guess how big a round the momma is. The person closest to mom's belly wins.
Of course everyone wants to play "guess when she has the baby". Usually done with co-workers,and sometimes people bet but i went to a shower where they made a list of everybody's name(that attended the party) & each person wrote down their "Guess" of either "when", "weight","length","sex of baby" etc.... A couple weeks after the shower I recieved a small gift in the mail along with a pic of the baby & announcement. The mom then added a little personal note that I had "won" the guess. I had "won" the When guess. Someone else told me a few weeks after that, they had also "won" a gift for the babies weight....It was a nice gesture, and reminded me of the fun we had at the party....
Hope this helps you have a wonderful time at your party...I am real excited as my first grandchild should be born a week from today!!!! WooHoo..
Good Luck with the party...L.
My favorite icebreaker game is to make labels of famous person's names (in this case, famous mother's names.) You stick one on each person's back as they arrive and they have to figure who the name on their back is by asking only yes or no questions., i.e. "am I in the movies?" "Did I adopt a boat load of kids?" The first one to figure out who they are wins. This gets everyone talking to each other.
Hi B.,
I went to a baby shower earlier this year and there were a couple of really fun games. For the first one...the hostess hid all sorts of baby items around the house, tied with ribbon. Some people found items before she explained the game, but it made sense once she explained. Each time throughout the day that someone found an item, she got to wear the special construction vest (it was a construction theme) and then whoever was wearing the vest at certain time intervals got a prize. You could also do it where whoever collects the most items gets the prize, or whoever finds the last item. Then the new mom gets all the baby itmes that were hid.
The second game involved a toolbox (again, the construction theme) that was full of 20 baby essentials (diaper creme, pacifiers, safety pins, socks, bibs, small baby items) and people had to write down 20 items that they thought could be in there (without looking, of course). Whoever got the most right got a prize, and the new mom got all the essentials. You could also use a diaper bag instead of a toolbox, anything that matches your theme.
Those games were interactive and fun, hopefully I described them well. :) Good luck and have fun!
Best,
L.
