$5 gift cards to Starbucks, McDonald's, Dairy Queen.
Please don't do smelly lotions and sprays. Some of us are allergic. And hate them.
I'm helping out with a friends upcoming baby shower. I'm in charge of games. Any ideas on what to have as prizes. I need around 5-6 and I really don't want to break the bank on them. Thanks!

At my baby shower, we had lotions but not scented. We got kinds that are great for sensitive skin like the Body Shop's Vitamin E or their alow based lotion....not perfumy at all and if you get the little ones, they are cheaper. Scour the clearance racks for cute trinkets as well. I understand not wanting to spend a lot but no one wants cheap stuff, even if it is free.
Good luck!
This time of year I like flowers that can be set outside.
the last shower i went to gave out the lotions and shower gels from Victoria's secret. I just put on a bit of it an hour ago - Honeysuckle & White Patchouli. Yum! The price tag said $8 for a 2.5 oz bottle but I know they are 1/2 off quite frequently.
Bath & Body has similar delicious sales.
I would get cute picture frames. I know at most baby showers I have gone to the gifts are won and then given to the mom to be. You can proabaly even go to the dollar store and find some cute ones. Or some lotions and stuff to be pampered with.
I just bought some cute little frames and trinkets at the dollar store. Then wrapped them up really pretty with ribbon bows. Everyone loved them.
Starbucks gift cards ($5 amount).
Unique frames (find the ones for $5).
Silver charms
Visor (the kind tennis players wear)
Beach bag (basket weave kind)
Beach towel (You can find ones for $5....Walgreens, Walmart).
Starbucks travel mug or thermos
No one likes crappy throw away stuff..I'd rather get a gc for starbucks (even if i don't drink coffee) or lottery tix.. what about a cute coffee cup or resusable water bottle..
I have bought potted flowers at walmart to use as centerpieces (you can find nice ones for around $5) you may need to cover the plastic pot in some wrapping paper or something. they double as game prizes for the winners to take home. 2 birds 1 stone. less cost. =0)
If you want something else, pier one or world market often have fun frames, candles, decorative boxes, imported chocolate, etc. Often they have an awesome clearance section with these goodies that are perfect for such low cost prizes.
When I threw my friends baby showers, I would just go to the dollar store and get some differnt candle holders and and some candles. You can find other little nic knacks there as well.other ideas are. Small plants, $5.00 gift cards to starbucks . I would also do a diaper raffle. Tell all guest that if they bring a package of diapers. They will get a raffle ticket ( and for that you can just have them right their name on a slip of paper too ) then at the end of the shower you have the mommy to be pull a name or ticket and you can have that be the grand prize with it being $20.00 gift card to a restruant. Have fun planing the shower.
