Baby Shower - Fishers,IN

My sister in law is throwing a baby shower for me in 2 weeks but has yet to get invites out in the mail. I am frustrated because I feel like she isn't giving people enough time to make arrangements to attend. Am I being a selfish brat because I am so disappointed in the way she has handled the planning of the shower? Is it rude of me to call my friends and give them a "heads up" about the shower?

What can I do next?

Call your friends and tell them when the baby shower is going to be and to look out for the invite in the mail.

That is NOT rude at all. I've had several friends do that.

And, as far as your sister n law and the planning - she's probably doing the best that she can. I'm sure she wishes she had the invitations in the mail already.

I would let my friends know weeks ago when the date was set. That way they could have it already made. I don't know many people who can't move a few things around to attend something important.

I would be irritated, too. If she doesn't know how to plan an event, or is too busy, she probably shouldn't have agreed to do it. It's hard enough having a baby/shower around the holidays, and you'd think she would know that people start getting busy around this time of year. I would email or call so people could save the date.

I understand and know where you're coming from. 2 weeks is not a lot of time but if your're friends know then they probably already have it on their calendar. yes do call those who are attending and say the invite is forthecoming...plan to come :)

I would definitely just send an email or call them and tell them to save the date and the invite will be arriving shortly. Obviously, they're your friends and family so you should be able to just let them know. You don't need to inform them that your sister-in-law is running late with the invites or any other excuses that would make her look bad. We don't know what's going on with her (?) but maybe she is doing the best she can. Trust me, I know where you're coming from!!! Just relax!! I'm sure everything will fall into place. Maybe she needs help? Do you have other family members that could help her? Maybe she's too embarrassed to ask for help? You never know!! Good luck and enjoy!!!
