Baby Poop? Silly Question

I feel really silly asking a question that basically amounts to "Does poop stink?" but here it is. My 6 week old daughter is exclusively beastfed and her poop has a very distinct acrid burnt smell. My first daughter was breastfed too and hers were almost odorless. Its a very stong odor and just strikes me as weird. I'm going to ask the dr about it next appt. She is a very contented baby and my diet is pretty much the same as with dd#1, but I'm wondering if there may be some underlying health issue.

Yep, definitely a question for the ages! :)

What can I do next?

I had two EBF babes and one had odorless poop while the other definitely had an odor. Weird, I know, but every little body is different!

Lol. Well all I can say is that both my babes have been EBF'd and both of them had really smelly poop. Never experienced odorless BM poop before! :)

I wouldn't stress too much...

Did you eat anything different that may have done this? I breastfeed my son and I know when we started giving him vitamin/iron supplements his poop smelled awful! It may also just be the way she is... may have a different digestive system, all babies are so different!

Not a silly question...I think poop can tell you a lot! I'm definitely under the assumption that if she's exclusively breast fed her poop should not have a strong odor. Possibly, could be something you ate so you should test that theory but if it smells that way each time, then definitely ask your pediatrician about it.
