I was adjusted by a chiropractor my entire second pregnancy. It was fabulous. My feet didn't swell, my back didn't hurt, my labor and delivery went smoother. (I wish I would have done it with my first pregnancy.) That would be my recommendation.

is it the sciatic? I had that problem, and I got a maternity belt. It was just elastic and velcro, but I could walk without pain finally. I highly recommend them. I got mine at Motherhood Maternity.

Do you have access to a swimming pool? Floating in deep water...letting your legs dangle down as you hold on to a floating device helped me soooo much. I spent allot of time floating like that when I was pregnant with my last baby. The weightlessness the water offers helps relieve the weight of the baby on those tender nerves.

I don't have an idea to help. My children did that to me too. I ended up using a cane to walk around and get up with. Good luck.

I am a prenatal yoga teacher, you can try the following as long as you are comfortable: try getting on your hands and knees just as a temporary relief to take the pressure off the back (which is likely where the nerve is, I am assuming ;). Also, if you are less than 34-36 weeks along, you can go into this hand and knee position and allow your forehead and chest to come down to the ground encouraging the baby to move towards your head and likely change positions. If you have a regular yoga practice, try downdog or a modification, as long as you don't have high blood pressure or any specifics that may prevent you from inverting (including being more than 36 weeks along). I did prenatal yoga throughout my pregnancy and it helped relieve these sorts of problems SO MUCH! If you can find a prenatal yoga class in your area you could ask the teacher about your specific issue and likely find some specific instruction and relief...best wishes!

Get a pregnancy massage. They feel WONDERFUL and you'll be ready to leap off the table and run home when you're done. That's how lose they get ya. Good luck!

I ended up having physical therapy for sciatica during pregnancy. It did help, but took longer because of the loosening of ligaments/tendons and such. The maternity support belt did not help me.
