I remember having the flu when I was pregnant with my son, 9 years ago and I called the Dr. and he said the baby won't be affected. Just drink plenty of liquids to hydrate. If you are concerned , make an appt.
Hello,
I'm getting a little worried because I was home with my 7 year old daughter all week last week as she had a flu possibly h1n1. Then over the weekend she was doing better. I had my h1n1 vaccine last Friday. So we had our Halloween and had a great time and on Saturday night I started getting the worst stomach cramps of my life. They felt like labor pains. I started throwing up and I was sick all night Saturday night and had diarrea all day Sunday. Today I am feeling better, but I have not felt the baby move since I got sick. I am 16 weeeks pregnant. I think maybe since I haven't felt well, the baby also doesn't feel well, but I'm still a little worried. What do you all think?
Thanks for all your responses! I was able to get some substantial food in my stomach to stay down and drank some pregnancy tea. Shortly after that, I started feeling some movement!

Go to the doctor. ASAP! Babies move all the time you may not feel it but they do. You should call your doctor and let them know whats going on. They can give you better advice in what to do.
Please call your doctor.
Baby is probably just resting after all that action, but just to put your mind at ease, call your doctor or midwife and tell them what you just told us!
I'm pregnant too. I was told to contact my doctor anytime I have any flu symptoms. Your doctor should at least know that you were so sick. As far as not feeling baby. Make sure you are hydrated after being so sick. I had an allergic reaction to progesterone cream that made me have very, very severe cramping among other symptoms. I was sure this was going to cause a miscarriage, but it didn't. I feel the baby move very early but there are times where I don't feel him/her at all and it worries me too. But being very early, that happens sometimes. I'd call your doc. They can either put your mind at ease and give you advice over the phone, or have you come in. If you were only sick for a couple of days, I think your baby would be fine. Dehydration would be the only concern so stay hydrated. Good luck!
I would call the DR for an appt. While you wait for your appt try to drink some OJ and lay on your side. That always got my kids moving. I hope everything is ok.
Hello!!
I am also 16 weeks pregnant with baby number 3 and I just felt her move for the first time a couple of days ago. The movements right now are so very subtle that you just may not be noticing it. However, the stomach cramps are very alarming. You should definately go and get checked out right away.
I would go to the doctor to get them to check things out. Better to be safe than sorry. I hope all is well.
Yes, I would definitely go into the doctor just to have peace of mind to hear that little heart beat. Also, this could be a side effect of the vaccine. Hope all is well!
Please call your doctor.
You need to go in to your ob immediately. I had a missed miscarriage 4 months ago and I'm pretty sure I had swine flu. I was so sick. I had never been that sick in my life. I got all the way to 12 weeks and went in for an ultrasound only to find out that our baby stopped growing at 8 weeks. I'm not saying this to scare you. I'm saying this because I wish that I would have found out at 8 weeks instead of walking around for 4 weeks without knowing. I don't have proof that that's why I miscarried.... but it could have been since I was so early and got so sick. Since you are already in your second trimester the chances are so low that anything was affected by being sick. Please contact your dr. just to be sure for peace of mind.
