You don't mention how far along you are? I would trust your body and your baby and just relax. This is a new pregnancy, so it will be different than the first. Your baby will drop when it is ready. :) If it helps, envision your baby moving head-down in your mind. It can only hope and it will give you something to focus on. :) Hang in there, Mama. Your baby will come soon! :)

Take half a Benadryl and half a Tylenol to get some sleep. Also, do you have a Pelvic Support Belt? That can really help with the pain of SPD. As far a dropping (quickening) is concerned, since this is your second pregnancy your baby will probably not descend until your baby is good and ready to come out. In a lot of first pregnancy's the baby can drop 4 or 5 weeks before delivery, but with subsequent pregnancies that "quickening" will not happen until labor is about to begin. Good luck!

Oooh, if you have SPD, you can count your blessings that your baby hasn't dropped yet. Having that extra pressure on your pelvic bone would only increase the pain! Often babies don't drop until active labor (even if your first baby dropped earlier) so don't fret. Not much you can DO to make baby drop, but keep positive.

My daughter never "dropped" - I still had a fast and uncomplicated birth (7 hours after my water broke but only 4 hours in active labor). Of the 4 hours with contractions, I spent three hours pushing - I was fully dilated, but she was still up high...I was actually lucky she had not dropped yet, she was breech at 36 weeks and I was able to have a version - due to the fact that she wasn't engaged yet. After the procedure I was advised to do a lot of walking and spent most of my time upright (as opposed to reclined) to have gravity help her stay down.

I got massages and did prenatal yoga in my last trimester, that really helped with the discomfort.
Good luck!

Second babies often don't drop until labor. For the spd, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Elliot Berlin -- he has helped many, many of my clients and I'm sure he can help you, too! He's at 6221 Wilshire Boulevard #518; Los Angeles, CA 90048; ###-###-####; ____@____.com luck and happy birthing!

I really hope things get better for you. My baby never did drop and I ended up with a c-section but with this being your 2nd I'm sure baby will drop soon. Try chamomile tea for the pain it'll help you relax and sleep

Just relax, the baby will drop when she's ready no matter what you do! Save your energy for the labor!
