My baby is 10months old and getting 3 teeth( it was 4 but one popped through) I was giving him a bath this mornign and he has red small bloches on his belly, back, and forehead. I nurse him and my first thought was an allergic reaction but neither of us has eatin anything new lately. Could these bloches be from his teeth? My older two got teeth one at a time never three so I though maybe it is because he is getting a bunch of teeth. Also the bloches are not raised just light red almost pink splotches and very small..Anyone have any thoughts? I hate running to the Doc for everything. Thanks

What can I do next?

Was he upset about anything? The reason I ask is because my girls...well actually I do and my mom do too but when we have been crying or get upset we break out into these rashes or blotches so to say. I got a call from the daycare center once to come and pick up one of my children because she had a rash to appear. When I got there it was gone. After speaking to the teacher I found out she got upset that her twin sister had to go to her room instead of staying there with her. I told them then that it wasn't a contagious rash its just something I myself as well as my mother does when we get upset. Does the rash come and go?

I would think allergies as well. I would try giving Benedryl (around nap time)and if they go away for the 4 hours and then come back, you will know that is what they are. If they don't then it wasn't and could be the teething. It is possible that they are from something you have both been eating for while, or maybe you ate peanut butter or peanuts and didn't remember? That is what I would do anyway. Hope those teeth come trough soon. My 18 month old is a late teether and she has been getting her molars in for about a month now and she is a grump!

Skin blotches could be anything from simple sensitivity to the soaps you use on him, to the detergents you use on his clothes or bedding, to food sensitivities (even to something he already eats -- we can develop sensitivities over time), etc. Blotches can be signs of illness too. But I've never heard of blotches or rashes going with teething. I'd see the pediatrician to rule out anything more serious. I know you said you "hate running to the doc for everything" but pediatricians are used to that and are there to answer questions! If your pediatrician makes you feel you're asking "dumb questions" or isn't patient with you -- find a new one.

My son would get a diaper rash when teething (he also got 3-4 @ a time), my pediatrician said teething can cause inflammation throughout your body, so maybe the splotches are from teething. I would monitor and see if they get worse.

could be dry skin/eczema, my little guy has it but it only flares after a bath or if the heat is turned up.
