my baby is 3 months old and has a lot of thick, long hair. i want to put it in pony tails and all that cute stuff but I'm not sure if theres a certain age that can be done. so do you have to wait to do baby girls hair? just to give an idea of how long I'm talking about her bangs are already into her eyes

What can I do next?

Go for it! It's so much fun to do girl's hair and if you get them used to it it's not a struggle. My poor bald daughter didn't have much hair until she was about 2 year old. She's 5 years old and has only had a handful of haircuts. She loves to have me do her hair.

No, there is no certain time when you can do your daughter's hair! As soon as she has enough to put up is the 'time'!

~As a mom to a girl, I suggest you get started as soon as you can...the earlier you start and she learns that she needs to sit still while you do her hair the better! You will greatly decrease the amount of tears and fights over combing/brushing of her hair if you get her used to it now! Promise!

Ha! My baby girl had all sorts of stuff in her hair at that age. She was born with with a lot of hair. I would give her little pony tails and everything. Did certainly did help later on down the road. She's just used to me doing her hair.

No, you shouldn't have to wait. Just make sure she can't eat what you put on her head. Try a headband for that age.

Sure, why not? Mine never kept any ponytail or barette in her hair so I had to have her bangs cut..Good luck.

She might pull it out but if it's that long, why not fix it up? I'll bet it's beautiful! I had baldy babies! :)

The sooner the better so she can become accustomed to having her hair done. I love doing girls hair. I have 3 boys living with me and the youngest is 16. I love coming doing little girls hair.

My daughter had tons of hair on the sides, none in back, and I started putting it in pigtails when she was about 2 months old. Everyone concentrated on the piggies and not the bald spot, which is what I'd hoped for! Trust me, other moms with bald or not much hair baby girls will be jealous, i actually felt guilty at times ; )

Depends on what you pull it up with. If you use those little rubber bands you will have the crabbiest baby on earth. Think how you would feel if you had no words and your hair is being pulled out.

You need to find little clips and pony tail holders made for babies. The good news is they don't pull their hair out, the bad news they almost never stay in.

Pretty much anything that will stay in will hurt her. Babies don't know to not pull on them.

My daughters were born with four to six inches of hair. Even with that I couldn't get pig tails to stay in until they were six months old.
