It happens to the best of us. The times you need to worry is when something like that happens and they don't cry!
Don't know if I should be concerned or not! I was at dance class and my 7 mo old was sitting on the floor watching her brothers. I thought she had been sitting up just fine lately, but all of a sudden she fell back and hit her head on the base of the chair and then the floor. She is wearing a helmet for a flat spot, but there is not much padding to it. There is thin carpet on the floor, but I'm guess since the dance studio is in a plaza that underneath that is cement. She cried for a good minute and then I was able to calm her down. Should I be worried? I feel so guilty for letting this happen:( I was busy talking to other moms and feel like I failed her:(

Lord have mercy I would say that happened to every one of my kids at least four times. She will be fine!
Aww thats the WORST when something like that happens. Dont' beat yourself up. It happens to the best of us and babies are more resilient than you think. Just watch out for any signs like vomiting, lethargy, etc. but more likely than not, she's fine. When my baby was around that age, I was getting him out of his swing set and somehow or other I lost grip of him b/c he arched his back and he ended up falling on the hardwood floor. I was devastated! But he was OK. :)
She will probably be fine. It just makes you feel really bad.
My 8 1/2 month old was sitting on the tiled bathroom floor today (on a mat) while I was helping my 4 yo finish her bath for a moment. He sits great, well, of course, he fell backwards right onto the tile. Big loud cry, but he was ok. I felt bad of course, but what can I say, it happens.
Lucky her to have a helmet! :) She'll be fine and she'll be getting many more bumps a long the way.
Keep an eye on her but I bet she was scared just as much as anything.
She'll do this from time to time as she explores her new phsycial capabilities. It happens. And it will happen again.
I always talk to mine when she does something like that. "Well, what'd you go and do that for? I bet that hurt. It's okay. Momma's here. Let's not do that again, okay? It hurts and it scares mommy!" (All done in a sing-song voice - obviously NOT in a scolding way.)
It probably helps me more than it helps her, but it keeps me calm, keeps in perspective, and it probably does actually help her calm down faster when she can tell that I'm not completely freaked out.
She'll be fine! When you worry is when you hear the crash/see the fall and then hear-- NOTHING! Crying is good-- tells you from across the room that they're BREATHING and not to schocked to cry!
She was sitting on the floor so she didn't have far to fall and babies are MADE to stand up to the kind of injuries they can inflict on themselves.
