Has anyone taken baby asprin while pregnant? If so, how much and when during the day? Did you start taking it before getting pregnant? Is it safe for the growing baby?
I take it every night after dinner (just one). I have a gene mutation that is known to cause blood clots, so I am supposed to be on it until 36 weeks. Is theer a reason you want to take it? I would definitely ask the doc about it first.
my thought would be not to take any form of aspirin when prognant. it thins the blood and i don't think it would be good for the fetus (reyes syndrome)
Has your doctor prescribed aspirin? My ob-gyn will have me take a baby aspirin a day from preconception to week 36 in order to prevent the formation of blood clots at the implantation site that could cause an early miscarriage and then to forestall preeclampsia and pregnancy-induced hypertension. And, wouldn't you know, my blood pressure invariably rises rapidly in week 37 once I'm no longer taking the aspirin, and even progressed beyond PIH to preeclampsia during my first pregnancy! In case you're wondering, I don't have a history of high blood pressure when I'm not pregnant.
However, the fact that aspirin has clearly helped to control my blood pressure during pregnancy doesn't mean it's right for you. Please talk to your doctor and ask him or her to explain why he or she is prescribing aspirin. If it's your idea, all the more reason to consult with your doctor before taking any meds during preconception and pregnancy.
This seems like an odd question. When considering the safety of any medication during pregnancy (or otherwise), you should ask your Dr or midwife, not just look for advice online. If your Dr didn't tell you to take aspirin for a specific problem, then why would you?
