The two leading reasons for crying are hunger and tiredness. Being in a dirty diaper many times doesnt incite a pain or uncomfortable sense for them so they wont cry about it. (unless the skin is raw)
My baby never cries when he should be hungry or his diaper is dirty. Is this normal? He only really cries when he is tired. Anyone else have a baby like this?

I second the notion that you're doing a GREAT job! Seeing to his needs and wants almost before he requests something. Remember that crying is a LATE signal of hunger, so you go mama!!!! And it must be a boy thing becuase my son is almost 3 and STILL doesn't care when his diaper is wet or poopy. Baffles the mind....
yes, my son is pretty similar and I try to enjoy it!
TOTALLY!!! My baby was exactly like that. My neighbors, family and friends were always commenting on how she never cried, was so alert and calm. After a while I figured out that yes, it's part of her nature, and it was also part of our parenting - her needs were met, we stayed prepared so she never got hungry or overly wet/dirty, and she slept well (eventually) with consistent bedtimes. She was happy!
Well, that was then... :0) My sweetheart daughter who only cried when overtired just turned 1, and as her world has grown so is her capacity for reaction. Seems like she cries for a lot of reasons these days, noises, new people, new situations. It passes as quickly as it starts.
Also, once your baby starts crawling, cruising and toddling, he'll find many things to be frustrating, and may cry then. He'll fall, and sometimes he'll laugh about it, others he'll cry. Then when he starts to understand 'No' - oooHHH! the darling tears of a baby!!!
Nicole is right - write it down in your baby book, and make sure there's at least one video document of you saying how amazing it is that your child never cries - so you and your DH can have a good laugh together later on!
HI S.,
Consider yourself one of the lucky ones. You have a very good, easy baby. It is normal. My son was like that too in the begining. When he got to a year old. Everything is just a challenge.
Enjoy the moment!

How old is your baby? I read both your posts. I remember when my almost 1 year old was was a new baby and I too was concerned about eye contact. This was around 3-5 months old. There dose come a time they will lock into your eyes while breast feeding or bottle feeding. I was worried for a little while waiting for that. I've also had 2 babies that never cried for anything. Always happy and easy going. I totally understand your worry. If he's really young I wouldn't be worried. If he's close to a year and won't make eye contact ,I'd be questioning too.
Hi S.!
I think you must have the PERFECT baby :O) I believe it IS possible....although, even if they are "perfect" at one point...they seem to always make up for it later! I would just enjoy this time ;O) And get your rest, and LOVE the fact that your baby hardly cries....you might want to write that down in his baby book to remind your self :O)

Yes my baby is the same but I am constantly anticipating her needs before she has time to cry so I think that is the reason that she doesn't need to cry to get my attention...since it is already on her. We are lucky to have babies that cry less, enjoy & don't talk to much about it haha-other Mom's get envious. ;)
Sounds like you are doing a great job in meeting his needs without his having to complain or nudge you!! And he must be the sweetest baby around!! Congratulations!! N.
