Like Jessica, I have one copy of the MTHFR gene, discovered after two miscarriages. I took extra folic acid and one baby aspirin a day until the 36th week, and had a successful pregnancy.

Reoccuring miscarriages are very often a case of a woman having too many toxins in her body. These days babies are being born with several hundred measurable toxins, many that are carcinogenic. One of my friends who had a very toxic lifestyle had five miscarriages before having a healthy baby. This is sad but it's nature's way of detoxing a woman and preventing sick babies from being born.

You may have heavy metals like lead or mercury. The reply regarding the thyroid is classic. The thyroid harbors mercury and it was likely slowed down by mercury. Mercury comes from things like amalgam fillings, excessive sushi eating, vaccinations, Rhogam shot, etc.

Better than supplementing would be to get rid of metals and toxins. I'd be happy to send you an effective plan:

Have your thyroid checked and make sure it is working properly. a over or underactive thyroid can cause misscarriage even if you don't "see" the side effects to yourself. You could have the side effects but not realize what they are. A.

I would second Grace's recommendation, a good naturopath along with your OB/GYN! Also, have they found a reason for your miscarriages? Is is hormone level, genetic issues or possibly the arrangement of your internal organs? I used to work for a wonderful physical therapist who had a great track record for helping women pre-pregnancy be able to carry to term due when they had miscarriages due to the way their uterus tilted and other similar issues. Good luck!

Hi J.,

All I can say is that I was working with a Naturopathic Doctor (Dr schooled in nutrition) when I became pregnant. I had many problems including miscarriages. I was taking multiple supplements (oral & IV), natural hormones, along with injected B vitamins. B vitamins are very important and often difficult to absorb into your body taken orally. My suggestion is to find a good Nutritionist or Naturopath. I have a beautiful daughter after years of trying that I would not have if it were not for my Naturopath's protocol. I would recommend him to you but he is in Northern Westchester.

God bless,
G.

I had 2 miscarriages during my fertility treatments and had a number of tests done. Turns out I had some high levels of thyroid antibodies so I started taking synthroid. I also had one copy of the MTHFR gene which requires extra folic acid, so I was taking additional supplements of that on top of the prenatals. I also took a daily baby aspirin. I would ask your doctor though before starting any of this. The folic acid was a prescription called Folgard.

Good luck!
