Ya know, I have been thinking about those bananas now. Thanks grape people! :p I would bet what ever landfill they are in, they are in the same freaking condition they were in when I finally tossed them. They were like mummified super bananas.

Maybe they were really pods.... Good thing I got rid of them before they hatched and ate my family.

Seriously though, does anyone know what happened to the bananas that caused this?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Oh, we tried the paper bag thing. We even brought friends for the bananas to hang out with in the paper bag who ripened up like nice compliant bananas. Telling ya, super bananas!

Bug I have seen the trash truck tooling around, no way those bananas will find their way back!

I need to find plantains sometime for fun but no, these were on the banana table with a bunch of others in the same condition. I wonder if they all got together at the landfill like Bug said....

Man, you tried the apple in the bag thing and it STILL didn't work? WOW!!!

Maybe, they were decorative bananas not meant to be eaten at all. Or, they were petrified. Or, they were mutant. They're starting a landfill army, I tell ya. Hope they don't remember where you live...

I would say be glad you and the bananas split amicably. The chances of them producing mutant offspring seeking revenge should be offset by their recognition of your valiant efforts to help them achieve their full potential. You gave them all you could and they never changed. I suppose we could say you saw their true colors. Ultimately it's hardly your fault since we've all learned we can't change others. At some point the change has to come from within. I could go on but I need to produce some work.

Perhaps they weren't bananas but plaintains which are actually harder than a banana but look like one in shape.

Were they organic?

We prefer the taste of organic bananas, but have learned that we cannot buy them green. They will NOT ripen. Lay a black banana atop them, nope. Put them in a bag with black banana, nope.

Or maybe these green bananas ARE aliens. I wonder why I never thought of that? : )

Next time try throwing an apple in the bag to give off more ethylene gas (think I speeled that right). It is the gas that helps them ripen.

If that doesn't work then I have no clue...

Sometimes the bananas do not absorb gas well... thick skinned (like some us need to be) :)
