Automatic Litter Box Reviews

Hi ladies,
I am considering buying a self-cleaning litter box, but have seen a lot of mixed reviews online. I have owned two litter maids. The first one worked great for about 2 years and then quit. I bought another one to replace the first and it was terrible. It seemed that the quality had gone down a lot. The motor had no power and really struggled to clean the box. So, does anyone have any experience with any of the other brands of self cleaning litter boxes? Thanks!
Cyndi

Unfortunately, I have found that the quality has gone down also. I bought one 4 months ago and after one month stopped using it. We could have taken it back to the store, but my husband threw the box away. so now it just sits in the garage...unless he threw it away (but I doubt it). I personally think they are a waste of money now b/c the motors don't seem as strong as they used to. I don't know where you live, but if you live in the Memphis, TN area then you are welcome to ours...free. Heck, even if you don't and just want to pay shipping I will ship it to ya. Just wanted to throw that out there if you really want to get one. It is only a month old. But in the end I will not buy another one until they put a stronger motor and better design. Hope this helps.

We had the exact same problem you had! We did away with the automatic one all together and got the Breeze system. It is great & smells a lot better. You just scoop the poop every day and change the pee pad as needed. We have 4 cats that use 3 boxes. When we had the automatic one, we only had 1 cat and the smell was a lot worse. I am really pleased with it. You can get $5 off coupons online so the starer set is only $30 (box, scooper, pellets, & pads). Best of luck =)

I just switched to the BREEZE and love IT! No more ammonia smell, there is a pad in the bottom that absorbs all the urine, you only have to scoop the poop out once a day, change the urine pad once a week and change the litter pellets once a month! I LOVE it and no litter sand tracking!

We have had the same problem. The first one worked for a few years and stopped. We purchased another one and it didn't last a year. Needless to say we will not buy another one.

Never had an automatic box, but my absoute favorite scoopable litter was the very cheapest (store brand) with no scent!
