Audio Book Recommendations for 4-6 Year Olds

We're headed to the beach in a few weeks with extended family. There will be 5 kids between the ages of 4 and 6 (plus of slew of older and younger ones) who will need a "quiet time" in the afternoon but aren't likely to sleep. Since the room situation won't necessarily allow for separate spaces to keep everyone quiet on their own, I thought it might be nice to have a few audio books or other stories for the kids to listen to during that time. Any recommendations?? It's three boys and two girls, if that makes a difference. Non-book audio series (like the ones that used to be on the radio long ago) suggestions are also welcome. Thanks for the help!

Five kids on vacation at the beach. Would not bother with audio books. They will be having so much fun. You will never get them all to have quiet time. Just get them some coloring activities they can do together or puzzles. I really do not think they will sit and listen to something on tape. Way too exciting to be on vacation.

Love love love audio books. These have saved me many a day in the summer as I work from home and my son needs to find ways to stay (quietly) entertained while I'm working:
How to be a Pirate and the How to Train Your Dragon series (the books are great - the movie tried to condense multiple books into one) and very funny.
The Castle in the Attic
Farmer Boy (works for girls and boys)
Magic Treehouse series
Hank the Cowdog
Dragon Rider (read by Brendon Fraser)
Secret Garden (girls only)
Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe

Have fun!

My friend's daughter listened to the entire Little House series and loved it! I read my son the first book and he liked it, too. Both are currently kindergarteners.

I have the same question! Currently on the prowl at our library to see what's new.

At the moment, my 5 year old son likes Giggle, Giggle, Quack and I'm Dirty as audio books.

We have 22 hours in the car (each way) to get to vacation this year and I'm pretty sure I'll go nuts if those are the only 2 titles we have for entertainment!

love the hank the cowdog books.
amelia bedelia books
magic tree house
horrible harry
the wayside school
diary of a wimpy kid
romona books (ramona the pest, beezuz and ramona ellen tebbits etc)
any real stories like the real bambi
the black stallion or any of the walter farly books

I wanted to second that you might have a hard time getting them to do quiet time but a good movie will also give quiet time something not wild crazy chase scenes. maybe a different movie for each day can be quiet time
