Tried them did not see a difference either.
Has anyone ever used or currently using Attentive Child by Source Naturals for your child? If so, how do you like Them? Did they work? How long did they take for them to work?
Tried them did not see a difference either.
Many, many "natural" products or herbal "cures" are NOT inspected or approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Check every bit of fine print on the label. There is no way to tell what is in them -- you cannot always believe what you read on labels. The contents could be adulterated with any kind of filler and you would not know.
Check the label and see if it says something along the lines of "this product is not proven to cure" conditions etc. That would mean it has not undergone any formal laboratory testing.
Is your child currently seeing a doctor about attention issues or ADD or ADHD? Is your child on prescription medications? Never, ever mix an over-the-counter or "natural" or "herbal" product with prescription meds; it can be extremely dangerous.
If your child has attention issues that are serious enough for you to want a magic pill cure -- and you have not yet seen a doctor about it -- why not? If the issues are enough that you're thinking about these wafers, then the issues are enough to warrant a visit to the doctor. If you are worried about medicating your child -- it may not even happen; there are other things to try first but do them with a doctor's guidance and oversight.
If you want these because you already have been to the doctor and feel the doctor isn't helping -- change doctors.
I bought some for my son way back when he was in about 4th grade. Didn't notice a difference.
There's no magic cure in wafer form. If you want to do things to improve attention and focus, there are whole food approaches involving DHA but you can't find it in most commercially available products. There is phenomenal science being done over the past 15 years involving non-GMO foods with incredible peer-reviewed clinical trials and studies. If you are interested in that, I'm happy to provide more info. Simply put, by supporting the individual cells to do the job they are supposed to do, the whole body functions better and the immune system is boosted, which decreases a lot of the issues caused by our modern diets as well as environmental influences (toxins, pollutants, etc.).
Edited; I looked this product up - it contains magnesium aspartate which can be harmful and cause cell death! I think you're better off with something patented (proven safe, very difficult to do with supplements and foods but not impossible), guaranteed made in the US, and so on.
I was giving my daughter the Attentive Child vitamins but I barely saw much of a difference in her grades and conduct. It wasn't enough to consider buying more of these and she ended up not liking them anyway. She said they upset her stomach so after a few weeks of taking them, she refused to consume another vitamin.
I also bought a liquid product that is supposed to help with attention and focus issues, I got it at GNC. I have yet to try that one so I could not say whether or not it's effective, but hopefully it won't upset her stomach as much and she'll be more open to consuming it.
