At-home Piano Teacher for 3YO

I am looking for a piano teacher who can come to my home in Southlake to give my 3YO son lessons. I want to keep it low stress so I figured having someone coming to our home will be easier than having to load the kids up and go somewhere. It is also important that the teacher like/have experience with younger kids.

What can I do next?

I am a piano teacher who specializes in younger children. It used to be thought that children need to be at least 7 before starting piano, but we now know that children can learn so much when they are in early childhood! I use a curriculum made for preschoolers and a very active approach. I don't travel to people's houses, though- I work out of my home studio. If you are interested in more info, you're welcome to send me a message. I can't guarantee that I could fit you in (my schedule is very full) but I'd be willing to look and try!

My son started playing at 3 and he loves it. We live in Coppell at go to Lorenzo's Bassment. Lawrence is great with my son, very patient. I think he has a Southlake studio as well and may go to homes. I like going to the studio because if my son has a good lesson he gets to play on the guitar and drums! What is better than that! http://www.lorenzosbassment.com We get a private lesson so he is the only one and it is much better for his personality. Good luck. Please let me know if you want more information.

I understand finding a good and patient piano teacher is extremely important. My wife and I have several friends of the family that work with a company whose goal is to match piano students with piano teachers. They work with students of all ages and come to your home.

Visit Mr. E's music and pick up a beginner book and then just let him play on the piano at that age. I think 3 is a little young to start piano. My 8 yo does wonderfully, but my 5 yo's fingers just can't do some of the exercises. Plus at that age it's more fun to just pick out songs like twinkle, twinkle and mary had a little lamb. Why spend the money for someone to teach them to just have fun on the piano? My six and three yo just walk by and start picking out notes, and I think that is so much more productive. That way music is fun and part of everyday life. Starting structured classes may be more of a hindrance than a help at 3. I talked to several people when I signed up my oldest and no one wanted to start before 5. So for now, my 8 yo goes. The 6 yo will start later this year, but she mimics her brother and knows almost as much as him, just from picking. I showed her the basics for Aladin's "A whole new world" and she's picked out the rest.
