Good morning.
Are there any self-applicable nails out there that can be re-used? Or are they all one time use only? Any brands better than others? Thanks.

What can I do next?

I had artificial nails from a salon for about 20+ years. I took mine off a couple months ago to let them breathe and I happened to have started taking a vitamin. Well, they grew out super strong so now I just have my real nails and they look awesome! I have also been using Sally Hanson "Hard as Wraps" Nail Gel Hardener. It paints on like polish and it works great. Good luck!

Ick... no, they're not reusable and they shouldn't be. I don't like the self-application nails because I get dishydriotic eczema from the commercial glue. I do have a wonderful nail salon that I go to that uses great materials and they sterilize their equipment after every use. They're artists who really know what they're doing and I have never had an infection.

I'm a nail biter and my nails are extremely unhealthy, bloody stumps if I let them go so I try to make sure that I go to get them done regularly. It's the only pampering I ever get done for myself and it keeps good hygiene on my hands.

But you really need to use a salon that has a good reputation and is very sanitary and not only follows health codes but goes above and beyond.

I would steer clear of all fake nails. They really damage your nails.

I stay out of salons too. My daughter's friend went to her regular salon to get her nails done for the prom about a month ago. Little did she know, the equipment was not clean until she ended up with athletes foot on her hands. Her hands are twice the normal size right now, her parents are out all kinds of $$ for Dr, etc to get her hands healed before cheer practice starts back up in July.

all the ones I have ever used kinda swell up and get thick so they are not reusable. Mine generally go 2 weeks. I also use the glue, even if they are the stick on type. One doesn't seem to better, but just be careful of the "short" or "sport" ones unless you have small hands. I love all the different designs you get and I get complimented all the time. They want to know where I got my nails done. Not bad for approx. $6.00 every 2 weeks. LOL
after reading some other answers: there is nothing wrong with artificial nails. I have been using them for years. Never got an infection and they do look good. There are lots of sizes to fit. I do not like the square look so I clip the ends to be rounded sort of. They are fun. You won't know until you try. Its not like you are spending $30.00 or $40.00 at a Salon that could be dirty. Do it yourself and have fun......

Nails are usually one time use only. The only alternative if you want artificial nails other than 'salon nails' is the 'self-adhesive' type that has the sticky already on them. You can't really wash your hands w/them on b/c after about the second wash they come off so I only use them for special occasions & use handy wipes to clean my hands when necessary but you can re-glue them on if you get the nail tip glue, just besure to clean your nails w/nail polish remover first before using & 'buff' the nails a little to aid in adhesion. Hope this helps....sometimes just paying for 'nails' at a salon is a lesser trouble way to go though. Good luck!

I don't know if there are reusable nails that you can apply yourself, but I would strongly advise AGAINST that very idea. Sorry. I am skeptical of the quality of self-applied nails. Women walk around thinking that they look good, and they really don't. They don't. The quality appearance is in the details. The nails need to be sculptured to fit each individual nail/finger if there is any chance that it'll look good; that takes time and incredible attention to detail. Once it grows out, it's useless and should be tossed.
