I just wanted to add that last year I bought a floor model tree at Garden Ridge in LATE JANUARY. I paid 90% OFF. HUGE SCORE. It didn't have the box anymore but for the price I paid I could buy a new box!
We are in the market for a new Christmas tree. I was thinking that the day after Christmas would be the best Clearance prices. Does anyone recommend a good place to buy one? I'm only aware of Home Depot/Lowes, Garden Ridge, Michaels, Hobby Lobby. Does anyone recommend a good high quality tree that is pre-lit?? Thanks so much,
T. L.

I got a beautiful 13' from Sam's the day after Christmas two years ago for half price. Normally $350, I paid $175. I used to sell semi-custom homes and decided to use it in the model home a couple of years ago - we got a MILLION compliments on the tree.
I've bought two of my pre-lit trees from Lowe's and my parents have too. Last year we got an unbelievable deal on a pre-lit 9'-foot tree from Lowe's the week before Christmas. So, you might start checking this week. Merry Christmas! L.
we bought ours at Home depot and it is an "easy tree" goes up in less than 5 minutes. It has the two different styles of branching on it, pre-lit with remote and looks great when it is up. It was a $229 tree we got for $79.99 the weekend after thanksgiving (Saturday). I think both Lowes and Home Depot have put their Christmas stuff on sale this week so I would head there before Christmas because you can get a deal now and not fight the after Christmas chaos! good luck!
I got our tree and a pre-lit wreath at treeclassics.com and I love both of them. They are a little pricey but I waited until the summer and got the tree for 1/2 price.
We got ours at http://www.balsamhill.net/bal3/?utm_source=google&utm...
and absolutely love it....very good quality and they ship right to your door.

We got an amazing deal at Bonnie and Clyde's. It's a pool place in NRH. I have seen other pool companies have a large Christmas tree selection too. It was half off after Christmas, and was pre-lit as well. It's beautiful!
Good Luck!
I just did some research on this myself. here is what I found . . . the trees that were the most realistic looking were a combination of PE/PVC. PVC being the plastic material trees have always been made of and PE used to make molded outer stems that have a much more realistic look. The trees have the PE branches on the outside and the PVC on the inner branches to fill it out.
Of the PE/PVC trees the ones that got a lot of positive press online were the GE "just cut" trees. I saw a few of these at Lowes(they didn't have a
> big selection) and then a ton of them at Garden Ridge. After seeing them at Lowes I thought I didn't like them but when I saw the same trees at Garden Ridge I thought they were adequately realistic. I think the difference was at Lowes they are displayed on a high shelf above your head so to view them you are looking up at them into the lights . . .
they seemed sparce but I guess all artificial trees would in that circumstance. At Garden Ridge they looked much more realistic.

At Garden Ridge they had multiple heights (e.g. 7 1/2 ft, 9 ft, etc) and widths (e.g. slim, regular, jumbo). I went with the 7 1/2 ft Jumbo Frasier Fir. I don't think it looks particularly fat - more like a normal tree width to me. It was on sale for $299.
I also liked the Carolina Pine at Hobby Lobby, also PE/PVC. It would have been $250 with my 40% off coupon.
They don't seem to go on sale that much more. You just don't have a large selection to choose from. Sad to say, the best deals seam to be before Christmas when Michaels offers the 40 or 50% off newspaper coupon.
Good Luck, L.
