ARRRG!!! Now Who Was This Present For?

It happens to me every year! I either forget to label a gift while wrapping and don't remember what it was or who its for and/or I pick up a gift and say to my self "This is for Mom", but by the time I get it all wrapped up I can't ever remember what it was or who it was for. This means that I have to open the end and take peek to remind me who its for.

What can I do next?

Been there, done that! I now write out the gift tag BEFORE I wrap it; but ONLY that gift tag and keep it right in front of me!! Then the next one, etc. I also keep a list as I buy stuff so I remember who I bought stuff for because yes, occasionally I forget what I bought for a particular person. Yes, my memory is pretty bad!! My kids are constantly making fun of me but hey, I get the job done and that's all that matters!!!

Merry Christmas!!

Wow....that is aggrevating....I always put the name tag on it immediately after wrapping so that won't happen. I never put the bows on them until I go to put them under the Christmas tree so that I can keep them stacked in the closet!!!

I always, stick a post-it note on it & what it is, after I wrapped it.
That way, I know who its for.
Even if I had had the present in the closet for awhile.
Then I can do the tags for it, later.

I comfort myself this way:

Dementia/Alzeheimers v Life

Life: You forget where you put your keys
D/A : You forget what keys are FOR

As long as I can remember who the person IS, and why the item in front of me is covered in paper, I'm okay with tearing it open (mini xmas!) and rewrapping it :)

been there, done that, so far not this year, I've been very careful. My son loves to help wrap (or hand me tape and watch) so we do one or two a night and he helps write the gift tags.

haha! i am always afraid of that happening. i don't do all the wrapping at once - i wrap it a little at a time (mostly as i buy it, i rarely save anything to wrap weeks later) that way it's fresh in my mind. i am afraid if i stick it in a closet and then just wrap it all later, i'll do exactly that! lol!

Sounds like something I'd do. I found a wrapped, nameless gift behind my sofa last March! Shows you how often I clean, doesn't it?

I write with a fine point sharpie who gets what just after I wrap because that so used to be me.
