Are You a Neutral Runner?

I am in need of a new pair of running shoes. I am kind of new to running and this will be my second pair. I have liked my Mizzuno Wave Creations, but am thinking about trying a new brand. If you are a neutral runner, what is your preference? I am considering the Saucony Triumph, btw. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I rotate between Asics and Saucony. I would go with what's comfortable. There is no "one brand fits all" for runners. I need somewhat of an arch in my shoe so the barefoot style sneakers were a no-go for me.

Good luck and happy running. It's my sanity!

I love running! Been a passion of mine forever. My mileage varies - some weeks 10, some 25.

I would highly recommend going to a shoe store that specializes in this type of thing. They will be able to put you on a treadmill and judge by the way you land what shoes you need. They will also let you run around outside of the store with each pair you try on so you can really get a feel for how they will work for you.

I always thought I was a neutral runner, but then I was "treadmill tested" recently and found out I tend to overpronate slightly. I purchased a pair of Brooks - a ton of my neutral friends have them as well, and we all love them! I have tried ALL brands, and Brooks are the best. I think mine are the Ravenna. I seriously cannot believe how much I like them.

I like Asics. You should go to a shoe store that specializes in running. I recently bought a pair that I liked better than the ones i got fitted for from Roadrunner.com (we don't have a store by us). They walk you through your feet and how you stand, what you will be using them for and then recommend some. I walk on the outside of my feet (which the guy that fitted me didn't catch), so they are higher on the outside forcing me NOT to do that. The shoes are reasonalbe to what you get in the stores.

I don't run and I don't know what you mean by 'neutral runner' but I love my Saucony shoes.

I bought my first pair 14 yrs ago and would not buy any other brand.

Asics were best for me. However, I went to the Ft. Worth Running...Club, maybe?? The store is on 7th near University. there are several similar running stores that will video how you run and give you the best shoe recommendation for your foot.

I'm not sure what you mean but "neutral" but my DH is a runner and likes Saucony. They fit his high arches best.

I have a pair of New Balance that I love. I had Saucony's but they wore out too soon. While I like the Saucony's a little better....the New Balance are close second and just last longer for me.

I have always use Saucony shoes. I love them. My next choice would be Asics. I tried both on in store, one on each foot, and had them on more than an hour going back and forth, and finally chose the Saucony's and ever since that is what I wear.

I love my Asics....I've been using them for years. I have a lot of foot issues as well as shin splints. I was fitted for them at my local running store (took quite awhile) and now i just take the shoe in and get the same style which i can never remember which they are.

I started out in a pair of Aasics, but something about the design seemed to cause numbness when I ran. And they were much heavier shoes. After the fact, I don't like them as much as when I first started out.

My first truly loved pair of running shoes were Mizuno Wave Riders. I think I wore something out in them prematurely running in the rain with them though. Not long after I ran in the rain with them, I started having issues with my left foot. Could be coincidence, maybe not. I don't really know.

I bought a pair of Brooks around Christmas, even though I am fairly sure that I haven't worn out (run enough miles) my Mizunos... but I thought maybe if I tried a different shoe it would help with the foot. The Brooks (I forget which model) is SUPER lightweight.

I have not tried Saucony. But I know some people love them. A good friend of mine wears them.

I am a neutral runner, but I have a wider foot and am prone to numbness if there is any tightness whatsoever.
Just go try out a pair at a running store. They will let you run in them outside on the sidewalk, won't they? Mine will.
