If you have a lot of computer experience and website experience, you could create websites or maintain websites. I do this on a volunteer basis so I don't get paid for it, but I understands that it pays well.
Aside from ebay and auction sites, are there legitimate ways to make money online? I hope I don't start triggering all those spammy posts about working at home etc.
I'm just curious if anyone supplements their income this way.

You can sell Pampered Chef, Jamberry (nails), or other stuff...but really? you will be working.
I work from home. It's a privilege and a curse. It's great because I don't have to worry about traffic making me late. It's a curse - because - while I have a home office - I never leave my job - really! :)
Ebay is a legitimate way to make money. The listing fees and final value fees will cost you money as well - so you need to make sure you are either selling in large quantities or you have stuff that people really want.
Well your post will trigger all the spammies on the site that will have ways for your to sign up with under them and make 6 figures doing nothing but sitting around and watching your children all day.....
You know the question is asked a lot. No one will pay you to stay home with children.
I also work from home running our company. Like Wild Woman said... this can also be a curse because I end up doing work at all hours of the night and there is no time off, especially if you own your own company or make your living on what you deliver to your employer. Most people who work from home have the privilege to do so because they have earned the right do so.
I also substitute teach and have for 13 years in the elementary school. I bring in about $500 a month from that which is nothing BUT, it is my money for little things I want to do such as hair salon, extra clothes, etc.
Are you crafty? Etsy is a good site for crafters and my 19 yr old daughter LOVES that site. She has made a lot of purchases and been happy with them.
A LONG time ago, I participated in focus groups here in Dallas. I'd go for an hour or so, give my opinion and get $75 cash. If you have a research company around, get in their database.
I do not know about online survey's, etc. That seems too time consuming for me, especially at this time. My time = money so I choose carefully.
Another fall back is the MLM but you must be ready to sell sell sell and recruit recruit recruit. Most MLM'rs around here have lost friendships because every time they talk to us, it is just to make a sale. Keep that in mind.
Best wishes to you.
We use swagbucks. Hubs and I each earn about $10-$15 a month, by running their videos on our mobiles while at home (so we don't rack up data usage while elsewhere), and we occassionally use them for our search engine too. I understand that if you had a big enough network of people who you got to sign up using your referal, you can get piggy backed earnings off of them too, to the tune of a couple of hundred a month. This won't replace a paycheck, but it could bring in some cash.
Another thing you could do is to blog, and monetize your blog, but I haven't the foggiest how to go about it. Basically, it is my understanding that you could get paid for banner ad and other ad placement, and maybe a bit more every time a blog ready contacts a merchant via your page.
Best,
F. B.
my swagbucks referral is swagbucks.com/refer/ConwayQueen should you decide to pursue this, I'd love you to use my referral.
You can sell Avon (legitimately thru Avon) online...You set up your online store and folks can order thru direct delivery...
Good luck
I use sites like swagbucks that allow me to earn points toward giftcards for Walmart, Olive Garden, etc. I run all of my searches through them and also enter the free points codes. I probably earn $25-30 a month this way. Not a fortune, but it gives us a little spending money for doing something that I would do anyway.
It is a crowdfunding website and is legitimate.
If you have a legitimate reason for, needing to use this.
Researching, online ways of making money, takes a TON of time.
A TON of time.
This question is asked a lot! Type some key words 'work from home' or 'online jobs' into the search box above (under the word Mamapedia). You'll get lots of responses:)
For the past 8 years I have stayed at home with my kids doing network marketing full time (and by full time I mean about 4 hours day while the kids are in school). I chose a company based on my needs (health) and my wants (convenience), what did it cost to get involved (I pay $29 a year for a membership and I eat everything I buy - because I only buy what my family and I can eat), and of course, how easy it was to make money (I have earned over 1/4 of a million since I began). I have not only supplemented my income, but I retired from teaching (at age 35) because I started to earn more than if I went to work every day. Yes, there are legitimate ways to earn money online and working from home.
Now there are other types of jobs too, where you exchange time for services rendered... you can transcribe documents, read essays etc, pretty much if you have a niche for something you can get paid to do it on line or from home. elance.com is a great place to look to see what you could get paid to do.
My preference was network marketing because I could "make the sale once" and get paid for it for years to come!

You can sell paparazzi accessories...$5 jewelry and hair accessories. I do facbook parties and my parties usually are about $100-$300 and I do parties once a week. My cousin also sells and her last party was over $700. I've done really well with it and have only been doing it for 4 months. I started doing this to pay off our credit card debt. It's 45% commission and is actually really fun. Message me if you're interested.
I work for a political editor for an international media company. Our division is based out of Australia and my boss lives in Los Angeles but splits his time between LA and NYC. I've seen him maybe 3 or 4 times in person in the past year. All my work and correspondence is online. I proof, copy and edit not so much from the journalistic POV but rather the American POV and handle all his communications on all 6 populated continents. So yes, there are legitimate online jobs out there. You just have to be very extremely resourceful to find these kinds of opportunities, get to know the right people and be a subject matter expert at something.
My job is supposed to be part time, but I probably work more hours than my husband when the international political wheels start rolling. Working from home is tempting to work all the time or none at all. It depends on how disciplined you are and what your priorities are. I have to be very very flexible because with all these time differences, an interview or new piece my boss puts together can really throw my day for a loop.
I make a decent income from this, which I'm thankful for. I don't have a journalism or communications background (my degree is in boring Literature) so I feel like I'm borrowed time each day my boss doesn't like my work!
I know its hard to want to bring income for your family but you can't leave the house because of still being the main caregiver for your children. There aren't any visible options available to moms of young kids but if you dig in the right places I bet something will come up! Good luck!
